Country Farmhouse Kitchen

October 18, 2017
  • Share

I find inspiration in so many places and in so many styles.  For example today, I bring you this pretty country farmhouse style kitchen from Stanwick + Dunham and Frank Smith Designs in Charlotte, North Carolina. The country farmhouse trend originated in the 90s, but it looks different than the stark white farmhouse we know today. The kitchen is actually in a 2007 built English Arts & Crafts style house in Charlotte. The vibe in this space is wonderfully farmhouse country living.  Wouldn’t this be a lovely space to make your morning tea or coffee every day?

One of the standout features of this kitchen is the white curved tongue and groove ceiling. Of course, this adds a touch of elegance and visual interest to the room. Through the sense of height and openness, the space feels even more welcoming. The choice of a white color palette further enhances the farmhouse aesthetic, giving the kitchen a bright and airy feel.

Imagine waking up every morning to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee or tea in this lovely kitchen. I’m obsessed!

Juxtaposing Light and Dark Farmhouse

Something so perfect about this kitchen is how it perfectly blends rustic country farmhouse living and white modern appliance. This farmhouse style is inherently Southern, but this kitchen just sticks out to me. Mainly because of that window above the sink. Traditional to farmhouse designs, the steel detailing adds a focal point to the space – talk about simple luxury. That, paired with the off-white countertops, dark leather chairs, and clay accessories create a farmhouse dream. One of my favorite elements of this design is that pop of red in the corner. Those small vases a nod to the red hues of early farmhouse designs and add fun to this space.

One of my favorite elements are those dark leather high-top chairs. This is true country farmhouse living. These create a unique juxtaposition but remain true to the overall design of the space. When paired with those intricate hanging lamps, prove the excellent blend of contemporary and classic that this kitchen has to offer.

In addition, I absolutely love the drawers and handles on the back wall. The handles are a fantastic detail and create a striking contrast against the white design. They add an extra touch of visual interest and enhance the overall aesthetic of the kitchen. Furthermore, the drawers and handles on the back wall not only serve as a functional storage solution but also to the overall charm of the kitchen. The design of the handles brings a sense of uniqueness and character to the space, standing out as eye-catching accents. Their contrasting appearance against the white backdrop adds depth and dimension, creating a visually pleasing focal point. These details showcase the meticulous nature of the kitchen’s design.  highlighting the commitment to creating a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. Every time you reach for a drawer, you can’t help but appreciate the thoughtfulness put into selecting these handles, which elevate the entire design and make it truly special.

Outstanding Attention to Detail

This close-up image really does justice to the kitchen’s exquisite details. The wood backing of the chairs, adorned with studded detailing really pop in this photo. Overall, it is a touch of refined rusticity. It’s as if the chairs themselves are sharing stories of farmhouse past! I can’t help but imagine sinking into one! Wish I could experience it in person.

However, I love the rugged metal work of the overhead light fixtures, it almost looks like barbed wire – but chic! The raw industrial elements with the airy modern farmhouse features creates great contrast. The true essence of the kitchen’s charm is in this photo. It presents the thoughtful curation of materials and elements. From the wood chairs, to the bright red vases, this kitchen is truly unique!

What do you think of this kitchen?  Could you live with it?

Happy Wednesday!
