A $10,500 Christmas tree I ran into this weekend (above) |
Happy December! Can’t believe it is December 1st already! Only a month to do everything I need to do before the end of the year. The best time of year but one of the most stressful too!
So much to do…yet I am still finding time to get distracted in this month of December…with shiny things, glittery things, holiday things and more.
On Saturday, I was wandering around town…running errands. On my to do list was to have my favorite florist in town The Empty Vase pot a nice white phalaenopsis orchid for me in a glass vase with some birch sand and glossy river rocks.
While waiting for my orchid, I took a tour around the florist shop and found a whole wing there dedicated to the holidays.
Right in the doorway was a $10,500 tree fully decorated and lit. I had never seen a $10,500 tree before…pine cones, ribbons, magnolia blossoms and leaves, sprigs of other things and some ornaments here and there. A tree extravaganza. Who would have the need for such a tree? Wondering…
Well here it is (above and below). What do you think?
The $10,500 tree decor consists of lots of pine cones and ribbon (above) |
The price tag! (above) |
While at the store I also wandered around looking for some mantel and holiday decor inspiration.
My favorite for the mantel are these glass stands holding round topiary balls (above) |
I like the idea of clustering groups of simple decorations and then adding simple non-traditional greenery on a mantel fyi.
So how are you inspired to decorate this holiday…and what do you think of the $10,500 tree?
Must figure out what I am going to do at my little cottage in the Hollywood Hills. Not much room for a big tree but thinking it is time to decorate.
Happy Monday!

My darling, this is beautiful! The original Empty Vase is in Houston, one of the most beautiful floral shops in the world. Everything is special. And, now about that tree. I think one should have wheels on the tree, unplug it and just roll it back into it’s own closet. How about that for an idea? Sending love…
Marsha, I did not know that The Empty Vase started in Houston. It is my favorite florist here in Los Angeles. The tree is not real so you are right…all it needs are wheels! Thanks for reading!
