Star shaped Christmas tree topper from Crate & Barrel
Crate & Barrel – Starburst Tree Topper – on sale $9.95; regular $14.95 (star shaped ornament for top of Christmas tree. Metal wire and beads) (above)

I have been tripping all over myself over the last few days…literally and figuratively speaking. While at my regular job yesterday, I was walking up the stairs to my office with my morning Earl Grey tea with two inches of steamed soy no foam and a V-8, when my cute Prada flat caught on something, and I went careening forward…up one step “Shoot. I’m going to fall”…up two steps “Yikes, I can’t get my balance. This is not at all right. Why me?”…up a third step “This is going to get ugly”… up a fourth step “I hope no one sees this” (Question: is vanity appropriate at this point as I am trying to save myself from a bad fall? Answer: yes.) …up a fifth step “This is ridiculous” as arms flail about in the most inelegant way…up a sixth step “Whoooaaaaa”….and up a seventh step onto the landing with chin practically on the ground “Oh my gosh…I can’t believe I didn’t fall” just as one inch of my two inches of steamed soy lands on the stone floor. That is just one of my tripping stories from this week. Metaphorical I think…for this year… (P.S. Did I mention I was wearing a mini skirt during this clumsy trip up the stairs…lucky there wasn’t anyone around…at least I don’t think…oy…va voy)

If I was smart and could get myself together and stop tripping over myself this holiday season, I would actually start planning and thinking ahead. One thing I could do is perhaps buy a few Christmas ornaments on sale…in hopes for a more graceful and less clumsy Christmas next year.

Hence today’s DESIGN ON SALE DAILY…a few ornaments I like that someone (smart) should buy now and save for later!

Low light. Lacquered walls. A kitchen wrapped in hand-patinated brass. An antique mirrored bath with painted bamboo panels. A bedroom in floor-to-ceiling leopard print that somehow feels calm. Maximalism that whispers.
Save this one for the next time someone tells you maximalism canโ€™t be serene. ๐Ÿ–ค

Stay tuned. Lol.
