Easy Flower Box Planter – DIY Video

This is me, Coco, in my yard, ready to start potting a pretty flower box.!

FLOWER BOX DIY VIDEO

Hi everyone! The countdown to spring is beginning and I am in the mood for all things floral! Today I bring you a DIY video on how to make an easy flower box planter that can double as a wonderful outdoor table centerpiece.

Watch this video I did on how to make it. VS and I shot this video on a weekend day. The planter took all of about 10 minutes to make. The cool thing about it is that it lasts for weeks and weeks. I love looking out at my outdoor table and seeing a beautiful flower planter all spring long.

Here’s what I used:

1. Old Rusty Metal Tray (found at a flea market years ago)
2. Gold matte finish metal paint
3. Garden moss
4. Potting Soil
5. Spike Moss
6. Cineraria

It was so easy. You can change out the metal tray for a redwood flower box or any other container that will allow drainage and can withstand watering.

Here are the steps:

Metal Flower Box Garden Planter
Line metal flower box with moss and then add soil
Cineraria Spike Moss Flower Planter
Add Cineraria and Spike Moss – Pack tightly
Metal Flower Box Cineraria Spike Moss
Voila – Flower box planter is done!

I ended up giving this flower box planter to my mother. I chose shade plants so that they would do well in a covered breezeway at her house. I am making more of these throughout the spring.

A big thanks to VS for shooting and editing this video of me. She is our talented Marketing and Social media guru! We had a lot of fun doing this!

Hope this gives you ideas for planting this spring and making your outdoor space bright and cheerful!

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just full, total, committed red.
From crimson kitchens to scarlet bathrooms, swipe through the spaces that prove one color is always enough.
Which one would you live in? 🔴

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
