EXCLUSIVE DESIGN SNEAK PEEK INSIDE A MALIBU HILLS HOME!

February 8, 2013

Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe of Nickey Kehoe's living room in their Malibu home featured in House Beautiful

An exclusive from the pages of next month’s House Beautiful! Woo hoo!  Love when I get a sneak peek on home that is about to be published.

A Malibu Hills ranch style home newly fashioned by Los Angeles interior design team Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe of Nickey Kehoe.

Eclectic in Malibu is how I would describe the aesthetic.

In lieu of a traditional chandelier, the living room features a huge red metal mobile by artist Stephen Oakes, poufs covered in Suzani fabric, decorative pillows made of vintage kimono sashes, a “Pollock-esque”wool and silk rug and mid century modern inspired furniture.

In the breakfast nook, a narrow modern rustic table with benches with a bright green embroidered Mexican cloth acting as a table runner.

And perhaps my favorite – the “love” spray painted above the bed in the master bedroom…initially a place holder for just the right piece of art…but now has become a signature decorative statement.

In the master bedroom, “love” is spray painted in blue over the bed and sets the tone for a varied mix of textures and styles. I love the hide rug too. (above)

The House Beautiful article is actually about the use of color in this home. I chose pictures of the more neutral rooms…but if you read the entire article which is on newsstands next week, you’ll see an electric blue formal dining room, a bright green kitchen, a yellow and purple family room den and much more.

Follow along on COCOCOZY Pinterest and COCOCOZY Instagram to preview some of the more colorful rooms in this home!

Thank you Sonia and House Beautiful for the first look!

Happy Friday!

P.S. Feeling the need to do a COCOCOZY giveaway next week…sharing the love during Valentine’s week. I’ll give away something in the COCOCOZY shop…but I don’t know what yet. Hmmm…thinking… Browse the shop and let me know if you have any suggestions????

P.P.S.  Thank you to Sarah from Chevron & Stripes blog for featuring COCOCOZY Cane Throws as a stylish and functional necessity for winter storms!

Gorgeous. There are so many great details in the living room; those poofs, the carpet and the window seating pillows etc… Love the colours and feel of the home.

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
