FASHION FORWARD: COBALT!

July 18, 2012
  • Share

I’m totally going bonkers for all things blue lately. I’ve decided I must have a cobalt blue pair of skinny jeans for my upcoming trip to Nantucket (the trip that I still haven’t bought my ticket for…oy va voy).

Anyhooo…I will stop with the blue obsession in a bit…but please indulge me as a bring you a little fashion, decor and more…

1st Dibs – Hermes Bolide Bag in Mykonos Blue (above)
J. Crew – Ankle Length Toothpick Jean in Byzantine Blue – $125 (above)
Janna Connor – Cobalt Shell Enamel Bracelet Gold Plate – $85 (above left)
Carven Spring/Summer 2012 Ready to Wear (above)

What shade of blue do you prefer? Do you like this vibrant blue for the home or for fashion better? Do tell.

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. MARKET WATCH: From Atlanta Market, here is a new cutie from Made Goods…a brass decorative chunky chain link boxes. Love these. I love Made Goods…a chic furniture company based here in the Los Angeles area. I also think the owners Chris and Oscar are so so nice. Was fun seeing them at market! From market I bring you the Rocco Box from Made Goods…

P.P.S.  Tick tock tick tock…must get ready for work! I think I have total ADD…in the middle of writing this post I decided I needed to make another vegetable smoothie (see yesterday’s post as to why), I fed the dog,  texted a friend…wooohoooo…need to stay focused.   Finish post…get ready for work.  Finish post get ready for work.  Oh shoot, I need to call the gardener…and make an appointment for my hair…oh I have drinks tonight with a friend…need cute outfit that works.  Focus…is clearly not there!

We are BIG fans of this color. Bold, yet class and looks great with so many different colors.

Blue Was the first color I remember loving when I was a kid. And I’m falling in love with it again. I’m actually looking for the perfect blue fabric for my liviing room sectional , everything else is white. Any suggestions??

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
