Ghurka is second on my gift guide for Father’s Day! Ghurka is a brand of leather goods for men. The company was founded in 1975 in Connecticut and in 2011, new Ghurka CEO John Reuter brought the brand back to life with a spectacular relaunch which included opening flagship stores in New York and San Francisco.
I recently visited Ghurka’s 5th Avenue store and loved what I saw. Fine well-crafted American made leather goods for men (and they even have some items for women too). I bought TE a little gift there – a cute travel tray – and even found a wonderful dusty blue leather pouch for myself there (now I have since lost the pouch so I MUST get another).
Ghurka is a great American brand on the rise.

P.S. On a personal note, best of friend AM and her hubby JE are good friends with Ghurka CEO John Reuter and his lovely wife Manon. I have had the pleasure of having dinner at the Reuter’s amazing home in New York, seeing them in the Hamptons and even dining once with them here in Los Angeles when they were visiting. The Reuters are the nicest people and have an incredible style – a style which they are clearly infusing into the reinvigorated Ghurka brand. Hoping one day to get a few photos of their incredible home…hint hint.
