Get Inspired: Spectacular Archways & Doorways Round-Up

April 13, 2022
  • Share

This gorgeous Spanish colonial home belongs to one of my friends. I snapped a photo while I was walking around outside. I fell in love with the archways around the perimeter of the porch. Archways have become popular in architecture again. The trend kicked off in 2021 due to its beauty and function in home design. However, archways date back to ancient Rome. The most popular style of arch shape is the Roman arch. It’s classic and uses a semicircular design that will help enhance any room inside or outside your home.  There are different styles of archways like flat, round, segmental, three-pointed, and so many more. Below are a round-up of some beautiful archways and doorways that enhance interiors.

Three centered archway is featured in the entryway of the home. I love the use of two light fixtures to add style to the neutral space.

This soft green primary bath features polished plaster. The vanity is set in a rounded arched nook. I love that the Maddux Creative team added a matching arched mirror to accentuate the space. The mosaic floor is an added designed bonus.

A technique to upgrade your rounded archways is to add mouldings. It gives it a traditional makeover without breaking the bank.

Marker’s combination of an antique beam and wallpaper makes for a unique rounded archway. Add wallpaper to your arch to add contrast to the design of the room. It’s a unique way to transition from one room to another.

This extended pseudo-three-centered arch is the perfect design for an outdoor patio space. It adds the perfect amount of drama to the exterior of a home.

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
