Glass Front Doors: A Round-Up of My Favorite Styles and Designs

July 19, 2023
  • Share

First impressions are everything, right? I am torn. I have an undeniable affection for glass front doors, particularly those with steel frames. They possess a unique ability to bathe a space in natural light and infuse it with character from the very first step inside. However, I find myself grappling with a dilemma—should I opt for a glass front door? Lately, I have been contemplating this question. On one hand, there is the concern of sacrificing privacy, but on the other hand, there is the allure of increased illumination. Is safety a potential issue? And what about the importance of style? These are the thoughts that have been occupying my mind. So take a look at the round-up of beautiful glass front doors.

Why Do Front Doors Cost So Much?

Shopping for a new front door is expensive due to the type of material used to manufacture the door, which includes fiberglass, steel, and wood. Front doors need to be sturdy to ensure safety for the home. It’s also important to consider the brand of the door, which can also influence the price.

If you’re currently shopping for a new front door then you already know that finding an affordable front door that meets your design standards is a difficult task. The size of your door will affect the price, therefore a large door will cost considerably more, and a double door will cost more than a single door.

Double doors aren’t always needed to make a dramatic entrance. This black single door has a curved design that makes a bold statement to the Mediterranean foyer. A strong black front door is a nice contrast with the sleek white walls.

How Safe Are Glass Front Doors?

Front doors are an investment so is splurging on a new glass front door actually worth it? Don’t worry having a front door made with glass does not appeal to burglars and they’re not easy to break due to the thickness of the glass. According to SafeNow.Org, “…34% of burglars use the doorknob to break into a home, while 23% use a first-floor window.”

I visited a new friend Amy, founder of Keur-Amy LaI visited a new friend Amy, founder of Keur-Amy Langseth @keuramylangseth at her chic Paris studio in the Marais and left completely obsessed! Every bag she makes is intentional, considered, and honestly unliIke anything I’ve seen. The kind of craftsmanship you don’t stumble upon easily.
She’s still under the radar. For now. 😌

This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a French interior designer and architect, Nathan Litera @nathanlitera is a beautiful reminder that good design isn’t about replacing the past, but learning how to live with it. You see it in the preserved millwork, the original fireplaces, the parquet floors, and then in the quiet contrast of contemporary lighting, cleaner silhouettes, and restrained color.
The magic is in the balance. The newer pieces don’t compete with the architecture. They feel intentional, calm, and completely at ease. Nothing is overly styled. Nothing distracts. History stays front and center while the space still feels entirely livable today.
Here’s how to bring that same feeling into your own home:
* Keep your base timeless — neutral walls, classic materials, architectural details if you have them
* Let contrast do the work — modern lighting or furniture against traditional bones instantly updates a space
* Edit your palette — keep colors within a tight range and let texture and form do the talking
* Invest in materials — marble, wood, plaster. They age beautifully and never feel out of place
It’s not about recreating a château. It’s about understanding the feeling that quiet kind of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Save this for when you want your space to feel layered, timeless, and truly considered. ✨

Sharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. ESharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. Every day for the last few months has been the greatest day ever here. Even days that are not event filled feel special in Paris.
Started with French class on this day. I was taking classes at L'Alliance Français because living here means actually trying to belong here and speak the language.
Then off to the Hôtel de Crillon @rosewoodhoteldecrillon ,a historic palace hotel overlooking Place de la Concorde, known for its timeless interiors and quiet kind of luxury, catching up with a friend like it was the most ordinary thing...in extraordinary place.
So even though nothing momentous happened...wanted to show you what my every greatest day life looks like in Paris.
This city keeps surprising me. 🖤

A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not overpowering, just enough to warm everything up, walls, upholstery, even the smallest details.
It shifts the mood completely. Calmer, softer, and a little more lived in.
Save this if you’re leaning toward softer, warmer spaces. 🌸

What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so hard to look away from is the deliberate clash Sophie Dries @sophiedries_ created and didn’t try to resolve.
The bones of the apartment are pure Haussmann: ornate cornicing, carved boiserie, a marble fireplace with a gilded mirror. Everything a 19th-century Parisian apartment should be. Then she placed a near-black dining table with brass-legged stools into the middle of it. A raw concrete-look bathroom behind the grandeur. Dark, sculptural objects on surfaces that were built for delicate things.
It works because she didn’t try to blend the two, she let them sit in contrast. The apartment feels lived-in and specific because of it.
→ Save this if you’re mixing old architecture with contemporary furniture.
