HORSE CHIC – AN EQUESTRIAN STYLE ENTRY!

June 10, 2011
  • Share
Foyer with dark wood paneled walls, a saddle draped over a wood cane chair, two pairs of riding boots, a tote bag, and a stack of firewood

Years ago, I rode horses. I rode 3-4 times a week for about 5 years. On weekdays, I would get up at 5:30a and was at the stables by 6:30a for an hour ride. I loved riding horses. I eventually stopped (a few months after a bit of a fall, I got off the horse for good…I know…I know…cliche…but it is true…I fell off the horse, got back on for a bit, and then got off for good).

I have lots of little horsey things around my house…I have some fantastic Pierre Frey horse pillows on my bed, a tiny iron horse sculpture on my bookshelf, and countless riding boots, helmets and riding gear stuffed into closets. For some reason, I can’t seem to let go of the horse woman in me!

Love this entryway in an 1870’s coach house in Canada. The dark wood paneled walls, the arched doorway (almost Gothic door frame) and all of the horsey chic accessories and furniture. Love the riding boots and saddle as lovely theme accents! Also, love the firewood in the foyer…creating a visually interesting feature wall while also being extremely functional.

Alternative view of the foyer showing it's dark wood arched door, a dark wood chair with a red blanket draped over the back, and a stack of firewood creating a visually interesting and functional feature wall

What do you think about equestrian chic? Do you like this entry?

Happy Friday!

The door is Gothic Coco and there’s no reason not to have a love of Equestrian as once it’s within one it’s nigh onto impossible to remove…though I’ve yet to know anyone of the horsey set who’d ever care to remove it from their person, even I though I just keep my equestrian memories solidly put away in a few prints and treasured photos wrapped in re-purposed saddle leather. 😉

I rode for many years too and it still remains one of my favorite things though I rarely get to go, and aren’t horses just the most beautiful animal ever!! I think so. Love that “stable door” as an entry door, so charming!

Love this post! I rode regularly for about 10 years growing up… even into college. Haven’t been on one in years and miss it so! And like you, I can’t seem to get rid of all my horse stuff… tack, boots, even grooming box are all up in the attic. You know, I case I need it one day. 🙂

    Hi!
I used to ride and show the A circuit in ponies so I love it all- snaffles, spurs and horse blankets!

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
