Summertime means outdoor dinners out on my patio!
I recently decided last minute (per usual) to cook Sunday night dinner for my family making my famous summer grilled chicken with a lime cilantro garlic marinade. I invited two people and then naturally that number grew to five after giving everyone a heads-up only three hours beforehand.
As it goes… I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare, but my first step was to set up a simple summer table! I couldn’t wait to put my new AERIN Ardsley collection (by Aerin Lauder) from Williams Sonoma to use.
I just love these bright and beautiful colors during the summer!
Table Flower Arrangement
For the floral arrangement, I placed a potted white and green kalanchoe plant in the center of the table. The tin was about $10 at a local hardware store, the plant itself was about $8 from the grocery store, and voila… the centerpiece was complete!
Even when I’m just casually grilling out, I like to add formal elements to the informal table like cloth napkins and my crystal Waterford drinking glasses. You can shop similar glasses by clicking here!
The Place Setting
Begin by placing a basic woven placemat in front of each seat. I added round blue paper woven placemats and I called it a day for this summer table! Fill the center of each placemat with your everyday essentials (or melamine plates). Place a folded napkin on the plate’s left side. If you have linen napkins, use them. It will help elevate your table design.
My Summer Dinner Party
The dinner party ended up amazing! My family loved the table and the food. I can always count on my loved ones for lots of laughs and love. The perfect summer supper!
How Do You Decorate A Table?
A gorgeous tablecloth, complementary dinnerware, and a pretty table centerpiece are the simplest ways to adorn a summer table. Simple, little vases of flowers cut from your own garden can be enough to give the place the summery vibe you desire. If you’re setting a summer table for a late lunch, placing candles on the table or around the table will assist your transition from lunch to late lounging.
Host Like A Pro
If you’re hosting a lot of people and kids, then make sure to prioritize durability. There are so many beautiful table accessories that are functional and don’t have to worry about wine glasses shattering outside.
To upgrade your table styling skills, you also need to prioritize stunning designing a stunning visual landscape with flowers and candles. If you can find candles that are of various heights then even better! Consider it a small skyline on your table. Every item should work together to enhance the overall atmosphere.
How are you hosting your friends and family this summer?
xo!
