TE’s photo of Jacaranda and palm trees in Beverly Hills (above) |
TE and I went for a super long walk yesterday in Beverly Hills. Enjoying the beautiful day. We both like taking photos so it is a rare walk that we don’t stop a million times and start snapping away.
This time…as we were walking down a Beverly Hills street, both of us noticed this wonderful Jacaranda tree with huge bunches of light purple (lavender) colored flowers drooping over the side walk. Before I knew it, TE and I were in the middle of an impromptu photo shoot – both trying to capture the most beautiful view of the Jacaranda flowers surrounded by beautiful palms. He was squatted down on the ground trying to get a shot, I was bent over circling one cluster of flowers. We were in a zone. We saw something beautiful and wanted to capture that moment in time. Now I am sure to passersby we looked kind of funny…TE down on one knee…me circling the tree like I was doing a strange dance…a site indeed. TE usually spends a lot of time framing up a photo and then taking only a few good ones. I take a million photos…some not so nicely framed and then pick the best.
So here is our view of a beautiful Jacaranda on a beautiful day. One photo from him…one from me…

Makes me think of how unique everyone is…same place…two people…two totally different photos. It is all about point of view.
You know, I have heard designers and decorators and people in the design world worry about being copied…I really think there is no way that creativity can be copied…everyone has a slightly different eye, a unique perspective, a wonderful personal point of view…it is all about embracing and celebrating your own point of view. Make sense?
Happy Memorial Day!
