COCOCOZY DESIGN HOUSE

Kohler Kitchen Sink – COCOCOZY Design House

February 5, 2019

More updates on COCOCOZY Design House kitchen. Today it is all about the kitchen sink.  The kitchen remodel has come together. It looks amazing.  Better than I had expected actually.  All the details down to the fantastic sink area worked out. Kohler generously supplied the farmhouse style kitchen sink and and kitchen faucet.  I wanted the kitchen sink area to combine function and good looks at the same time…I think it worked out!  Here’s how it came together…

.

Kitchen Sink: Before and After

This is what it looked like when I bought it. Amazing to see how far it’s come from this dark and cramped outdated kitchen. WOW!

This was the drawing/rendering of the kitchen sink wall when I started the remodel.

I took this picture when the sink area was almost complete.  Once the sink went in, even without cabinet fronts, the kitchen felt complete. I used Kohler’s Dickinson Farmhouse under-mount sink in white for the kitchen. I wanted a classic deep farmhouse sink with an apron front. More than just a beautiful farmhouse sink, the Dickinson is resistant to chipping, cracking, and burning.

I love the deep, subtly textured material and that it’s under-mount.  Farmhouse under-mount sinks are a classic design that transcends all genres.

I picked a bridge-style faucet from Kohler to go with classic sink.  I like the high faucet with the bridge detail. Familiar lines yet very clean and modern. I also picked a stainless steel finish to go with the light fixtures in the kitchen and the stainless steel appliances.

The HiRise faucet is the perfect fit.

This two-hole deck-mount and higher neck makes a grand statement as you enter the kitchen. The faucet also fully rotates for easy moving around and is resistant to corrosion.

This brushed stainless finish is both sophisticated and modern and just ties the entire kitchen together.

Look at how great the faucet and sink look against the cabinet colors!

I also added the HiRise Independent Sidespray with valve for ease washing larger dishes at different angles.

This is a shot of the kitchen still in progress…one more cabinet drawer front to be painted on the right!

Other Kohler Faucets and Sinks I Almost Picked

I loved so many of the different faucets and accessories, and though I ultimately went with the HiRise Faucet and Dickinson Sink, there were some strong contenders. What do you think?

So today, I took my work somewhere else. ☕️💻
A little change of scenery, a different view, a few hours away from my usual desk and somehow the workday felt a little lighter.
I’ve found that working somewhere else can be a nice reset when I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, or just too used to the same routine. It’s not necessarily about being more productive; sometimes it’s just about making the day feel different.

Designer Emma Donnersberg took her own Paris apartment in the 7th arrondissement and used it to rewrite the rules — classical bones, contemporary everything else. Her Wave Sofa and U&Me Table anchor the living room in organic curves. In the kitchen, a green ceramic-wrapped island does the heavy lifting for color against all that neutral stone. And the dining room? A Carrara travertine fireplace that turns stone into the whole point of the room.

A little peek at one of my favorite outdoor spaces, which I designed years ago. The patterned tile, navy seating, white stucco, and layers of greenery make this balcony feel like a little room all its own.
I love how much personality you can create in a small outdoor space without making it feel overcrowded.
