The Basic: 12 Last-Minute Summer Table Setting Accessories

July 26, 2022
  • Share

With high summer comes warm weather, outdoor living, and fun gatherings with friends and family (high summer means the middle of summer). Sometimes those gatherings can be sprung on you last minute. Friends come over and the next thing you know is that you’re serving drinks and ordering food from your favorite local spot. Yes…this might have happened to me on a few occasions. So in case, you’re put in a similar situation this summer… I’m sharing some of my go-to tips. Here are my favorite last-minute summer table accessories that you need in your home. And even some that I have in my shopping cart!

My table setting details.

Every table setting needs a neutral plate. The classic plain white dish will never go out of style. You can dress up the table with pattern napkins. The black and white checkered napkins are my go-to.  I always keep it simple. Less is more when it comes to a table.

My centerpieces.

Maybe you already have all of the table-setting staples, but you feel like it’s missing something? Flowers are always an easy way to enhance a table. You can add pops of color with a fresh arrangement or go for a minimally chic aesthetic with some greenery. An easy trick to always having the perfect centerpieces is buying faux botanicals and house plants. You can easily store them in a container and pull them out when you need them.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. Do I say that about every season? The energy during the summertime just feels different. Everyone is happier and more carefree. Maybe, it’s because the weather is nicer and more people are traveling! A change of scenery is always a great way to refresh. Take a walk outside or go on a casual summer picnic.  Also, summer dresses and sandals are a cute perk too! I hope this blog was helpful for your next last-minute dinner party!

Coco

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
