Good living room ideas. I am always on the hunt for simple style for small spaces. Today, I think I found it with this apartment.
Last night, I made dinner for TE and his son EE, ET, JG and ET’s new friend from Sweden. Basically, everyone at the table except me was either Swedish or had dual citizenship or had lived in Sweden for most of their lives or a significant part of their lives. At one point when they were all speaking Swedish, I was trying to glean an English word here and there and they caught me mouthing words and sentences as I struggled to understand. TE can speak Swedish because he lived in Sweden for 12 years, so my saving grace during the Swedish parts of the conversation were that TE would respond in English. The entire table spoke impeccable English by the way…bilingual. A total gift to fluently speak two languages. Note to self, brush up on the French so I can call myself bilingual. At this point, French is the language I am closest to…with my mother and sister being fluent…I, on the other hand, can just get by with my French. Need to practice.
Anyhoo…last night, we got on the topic of apartments in Stockholm and Gothenberg. They were saying it can take 10 years to get a rental apartment in Sweden but that buying is easier. Got me thinking about this very stylish little apartment in Gothenberg that I had seen. This flat was recently sold on Entrance Makleri. Very fashionable. High ceilings, large windows, lots of light, simple but elegant modern furnishings. Easy on the eyes. Feels very much like spring. Reminded me of some wonderful classics from Spring fashion runway shows actually.
Living room ideas: 7 things you need to decorate a fashionable small apartment living room
1. Modern gray sofa or settee
2. Purple accent pillows and barrel chair
3. Silver chandelier and floor lamp
4. Decorative mirror
5. Wood and metal coffee table
6. Gray rug
7. Tall plant
No need to spend a ton on these items. So many good living room ideas but I would focus on getting some very solid anchor pieces. I would say invest in a good sofa though…and of course some wonderful throw pillows. Once all is pulled together…maybe think of splurging on a fabulous dress to lounge elegantly in your fantastic new space!
Happy Monday!

Such a beautiful concept. Classic and modern all at once, definitely living the purple and grey!
I love this post! Similar to what I have been trying to do to my bedroom.

Who needs more space when it is designed so beautifully and so serene.
I adore the way the designer gave hints of purple and the deepness of this particular hue! Not over done .
