A living room, dining room and open kitchen all in one room. (above)
Came across the website of Charleston, SC designer Angie Hranowsky this weekend. Her designs are full of fun color and elegantly eclectic combinations of home furnishings and accessories.
Thought this room was tres interesting. I am usually 100% against an open kitchen (100% against it really) but I think this space works (so maybe I am not 100% against..maybe just 99% against and this room is the 1% that is the exception). Maybe it is the sleek and well designed gourmet kitchen that provides a nice backdrop for the living and dining spaces. I think it is the kitchen in fact that is so very cool.
The kitchen is all white with wood floors that carry through to the rest of the space. Modern simple white cabinets, a squared off main center island, and a very dramatic textured tile feature wall with a shiny range hood combine style and function perfectly. (above)

The small dining room is neatly appointed with a mid-century modern style wood dining table, white Bertoia dining chairs, two white cone shaped pendant lights and finished off with a colorful abstract portrait painting.(above)
It’s fantastic! I love the square chandelier in front of the staircase!
mid century gets me every time…..love the stools and the dining table. Very unique mix altogether, but well done.
That’s a great open space. Not crowded at all. It’s my dream to be cooking and be able to enjoy a fire in the fireplace. Love it!
I’m always drawn to her rooms. First by her great use of color, then by all the distinctive elements that you might not think would work together, but they do. Open plan spaces are not my favorite either, but this one looks so warm and inviting, I’d be happy to give it a try.
She’s got a sophisticated, funky and fresh color sense, brings a wonderful palette to her rooms.
Probably her graphic design background.
Takes one to know one!
Very smart arranging. Good inspiration for those of us that live in small spaces.

Very pretty and feminine.
Love your blog! Just FYI, in the last image, the portrait is not a painting – it’s made of bottle caps. It’s by artist Molly B. Right. Check her out – she does wonderful work!!
This is really a beautiful space. Thanks for sharing!
