Here are some pretty pink peonies that I have in my living room. I put them in a simple tall vase and placed them in front of my iron fireplace screen in my tiny little cottage in the Hollywood Hills. The flowers are so vibrant…pink with yellow centers – maybe the Coral and Gold variety. Love them. I did wake up this morning to find the blooms far more open than they were yesterday and a shade lighter! Who knew that peonies could fade? Did you?
Had a great night last night here in Los Angeles. Invited to two lovely outdoor dinner parties. One was on the early side in town and the other was at the beach. Made for a bit of an adventure getting from one to the next. Good friends, great food, nice new people to meet and all on a lovely June evening. One more dinner party tonight and then the week begins again. I like summer for that. Dining al fresco with friends. Have not had friends over to my house in awhile. Will have to cook up something soon.
ONE DAY LATER….
The peonies seem to have lost some color and faded. They still look so pretty!

LOVE peonies, even when they are blown. Wish we could get them more often but then maybe they wouldn’t be so special?

I love love love peonies. But I have such an abundance of roses, just dripping all over the garden, that I have been using them in bouquets.
