5 STORIES FOR $15 MILLION ON THE UPPER EAST SIDE!

January 9, 2012

Exterior of a 5 story house in New York City on the Upper East Side

6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, 6500 square feet and 5 stories…that’s what you get for $14,850,000 in New York City…on the upper east side.

This New York City townhouse is listed by Sotheby’s.  It has been completely renovated.  You might wonder how you get up and down the five floors…well there is an elevator to give you a lift.  Kitchen has twin dishwashers and dual Sub-Zero refrigerators.  Two indoor gas fireplaces and a sound/lighting/floor heating system that can be controlled via the internet.

They even include a heated front garden and sidewalk…don’t know quite how this works but I’m sure it helps in snowy weather.

The best part of this home in my view is the fab herringbone wood floors and the large floor to ceiling windows in the living room.

I like…a blank slate…ready to move in!

They say the front garden and sidewalk are heated….hmmm…! (above)

I like this city townhouse.  What do you think?  Is this your idea of city living?  Does this merit its $15 million asking price?  Do tell!

Happy Monday again!

Upper East Side is my favorite part of NYC. Stroll through the Park, have breakfast at EAT, walk down Lex and look in the store windows, walk back up 5th and watch all the people, pop into the Met for some CULTCHA, and go home to this gorgeous palazzo. sigh…

The flooring is absolutely amazing! Also, you can really never have enough carrera marble, can you?! It hurts my heart and soul that it costs as much as it does though. At this rate I will be renting for the rest of my life!

I love this house and for sure think that it is what city living is all about! The pricetag is a little steep for my personal budget but you do get a lot for your penny with this one!
    Great post, thanks!

Why so cheap? I don’t have $15 million lying around myself, but doesn’t that not seem like that much for an entire house in Manhattan?

I have to say yes this house is beautiful but WHY oh WHY is the dining room on a different floor than the kitchen???!!!!

For $15 million I would NEVER walk upstairs with my food to sit…nor would I have help bring it in the elevator/drag food around possibly spilling on the way up..thats just plain stupid!!!! you’d think for that price tag they would think of a better floor plan 😉
