SEE THIS HOUSE: OVERARCHING DESIGN IN A NYC BROWNSTONE!

Library with barrel vaulted ceilings in a New York Brownstone designed by Peter Pennoyer

This is one of those posts where I’ll let the pictures do the talking. No story from me this time. No attempt at humor…just think I’ll be quiet (I can hear a collective sigh of relief from friends and I’m sure quite a few readers). Me…silent…yes…this time at least…perhaps awe inspired by this incredible design.

A New York City brownstone designed by elite architect Peter Pennoyer…a stunning and elegant home with curves in all the right places.

Replete with an array of archways – brilliant barrel vaulted ceilings, sensational arched doorways, rooms with rounded corners, an incredible vista of arcs that makes up a main hallway and a trio of striking floor to ceiling arch framed windows – this home is absolutely dazzling.

Absolutely gorgeous! I’ve had the photo of the living room in my inspiration folder, but I don’t think I had ever seen the rest of this house – thanks!

Thank you for all of your great comments. I love this house too.

It is not for sale that I know of…and I’m sorry I do not know the exact color of the living room walls (you could print up a picture and take to your local paint shop to match).

I have lots more from Peter Pennoyer Architects coming up. So stay tuned!!!

The image with the archways and staircase just took my breath away. The lovely glow in the image is as if the gods are shining down. If only we could all live such lives..

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
