SIMPLY A ROYAL WEDDING!

April 29, 2011

Photo of a woman from behind wearing a strapless wedding runnning and holding a cowboy hat

My interior design non sequitur of the day…

I said I wasn’t going to watch it live. I have a big day ahead today so I had no intentions of being up during the wee hours of the night to watch the Royal Wedding. Why watch it live when there are DVRs? Nope not watching. That was my resolve. Even spoke with good friend Alyssa who lives in London a few days back and swore that I would NOT be watching the Royal Wedding live.

I watched the Royal Wedding live. Short story really…went to sleep very early (11p is very early for me)…woke up in the middle of the night to get a bit of water…turns out, I woke up at 2:30am here in Los Angeles…so I turned on the t.v.! Then I was in.

A lovely wedding indeed. I thought Kate Middleton or I guess I don’t know what to call her now that she is an HRH…looked fantastic. Her dress was perfect. Simple, elegant, perfectly clean lines…sounds like I am describing a room or furniture…but the architecture of the future queen’s wedding day attire was just right.  William looked quite lovely too.  Nice wedding.

Then there were Fergie’s girls adding some Hollywood style humor to the quite regal British affair. Princesses Eugenia and Bea looked a little kooky/eccentric in their hats. They looked like characters out of Disney movie or something. I guess though, more power to them…they dared to be oh so different.

I did go back to sleep after they left the church…now I’m hurting a bit this a.m.! Oh dear. Where is my friend caffeine? Where are you? Must stop off and get my morning tea with soy (I drink that every morning…not just on Royal Wedding days…fyi) and meet up with caffeine then!

I guess the moral to this story is never say never? You’d think by now I would have learned to never say never? I guess I’ll never learn…LOL!

More on interiors…coming up…

haha. I said the SAME THING! I will not watch it live…. yeah right. I was up bright and early glued to the TV with the rest of everyone. Glad I did though, it was such a beautiful ceremony, stunning dress and the crowd made it even more magical. Wish I could have been there.

    Hello,

Thank you for your blog – I’ve recently discovered it and I’m loving it! I too swore that I would not watch the Royal Wedding Live but heck, I guess those who say that are only trying to convince themselves because we ALWAYS end up indulging. 😉

Prince William is now the Duke of Cambridge and Kate Middleton is now the Duchess of Cambridge. 🙂

I liked her dress, too.. it seems to be a more-modern version of the one Grace Kelly wore to wed HER prince. 🙂

    Best,
    Nina

In Buenos Aires, where I´m from, the transmition began at 6 AM… not so bad as 2.30 AM, but still a bit early for a friday.
Last night I told my husband I was going to get up to see everything and he laughed and called me crazy. Guess who was up in front of the TV at 6.05! 🙂 Everything was really nice, we couldn´t stop watching.

I just adore seeing the fashion and the hats. I do give kudos to Fergie’s daughters for being so brave and unique! Not that I would have worn them!

I watched the wedding too, online stream that is (no TV here in Kone) and thought that Princess Beatrice’s hat was so awful! I loved her Valentino Coat and outfit but that hat! In my opinion, not nice at all!

I live in Montreal and I watched the Royal Wedding too…I found out that a lot of people who said they would not watch it…actually got up and watched the whole thing! I believe that we all need a little bit of romance and fairytale in our life from time to time and this was a very good dose of it! I simply loved it!

I also said I wouldn’t watch it but got suckered into the repeat when I was baking a birthday cake later that night. It was truly lovely wasn’t it?

How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️
I flew from Los Angeles to Nantucket for a very quick trip and I’m planning to find out.
Beautiful beaches, boats, gorgeous interiors, time with friends and one last little dose of August.
Turns out you don’t always need a whole week to feel like you got away. 🤍
So happy to be visiting bestie @francesgfayard and her husband Calvin and my godson Carter for a little last minute end of summer travel. New England at its best. Day 1 was a beautiful day. 🤩
You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.

So today, I took my work somewhere else. ☕️💻
A little change of scenery, a different view, a few hours away from my usual desk and somehow the workday felt a little lighter.
I’ve found that working somewhere else can be a nice reset when I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, or just too used to the same routine. It’s not necessarily about being more productive; sometimes it’s just about making the day feel different.
A little workday change of scenery with me. 🤍
