SMART DESIGN: A PAPER SHREDDING COFFEE TABLE – THE PAPERVORE!

June 18, 2010
  • Share

Paper shredding coffee table by Voos Furniture
Voos Furniture – Papervore by Pigeon Tail – $1250 (16″h x 31″w x 16″d
Powdercoated bent aluminum, mahogany, oak, acrylic)

This coffee table has an appetite for paper. Love it. The ultimate in form meeting function.

While you are drinking your morning coffee…get rid of yesterday’s mail while you sip and converse. The shredded paper makes for great design in its self as it is concealed in the clear acrylic see-through collection bin below the table.

The only worry I have is once I pay a bill, I cringe and then never want to see it again…would this table just be a reminder of my spending habits and that monthly American Express bill? Well might make me think twice about spending the way I do… :-)!

Watch this video to see how it works. So cool.

Will be sharing more from Voos, the fab furniture store in Brooklyn that sells this table, in coming weeks…everything they sell is locally made and really forward thinking as far as design. Had a nice conversation today with Serap Demirag, one of the store’s founders.

What do you think of this table? Would you ever put it in your living room, den, family room, study or library? (I would)

Happy Friday!

xo

How appropriate for our security-challenged world! The table is fun, whimsical and useful! It does need to be in a more contemporary space, though.
