SNOW WHITE HOME

January 10, 2014

Exterior of a snowy white house
Snow envelopes an all white house!

Was browsing through My Lovely Things blog this morning where everything is perfectly winter white in Anna Truelson’s home in Sweden.

Fresh and cozy in the dead of winter.  All white.  I like this.  I think it works.

White dining room with Eames chairs and a long table
White Eames chairs surround the long dining room table (above)
White kitchen with open shelving and natural wood and woven accents
Open shelving in the all white kitchen makes the space even more airy and light (above)
White living room with framed black and white photos on floating shelves
A touch of black in the form of framed black and white photos on the floating shelves adds just the right amount of contrast.

What do you think about all white decorating…do you like?  Would you be able to pull this off in your home?  Would you want to?

Happy Friday!

I like this very much. I also think it works well. My decor is much different…a little darker more eclectic. If I were in a different style home, I might give this look a whirl!

I love all white decorating. I try to do it as much as possible but with some splashes of colour. We also have a Vizsla puppy so totally white is impractical.

I love all white, maybe when my kids are gone and married!

I love all white, I have a fair amount of it in my home. But I don’t know, sometimes some color makes it feel lively. I tend to go back and forth between wanting to add more color or simplify it depending on my mood.

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just full, total, committed red.

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
