My House

My Sunny Breakfast Room 360

This is my little sunny breakfast room in my Spanish bungalow here in the Los Angeles area.  The decor is in progress as is every room in my house but love it in this room even if it is not fully done.  It is the brightest spot in the house in the mornings.  The perfect spot for an energizing start of the day.  So far I have decorated it with a pierced metal pendant light, an old mahogany cabinet I have had for years, some vintage chairs I had stained black, and a lovely lovely white Saarinen tulip table with a white marble top.  Next up is what to put on the walls…I have some ideas but would love your thoughts. Bernadaud china plates, vintage crystal and tea cups and blue woven placemats made of paper contrast nicely against the marble table top.

I bought these vintage “X” chairs years ago but just recently had them painted jet black.  Love these with the white tulip table.

Vintage tea cup in light blue and gold is one of my favorite from my small mismatched collection of old cups.

This is the view from the dining room into the breakfast room.  A little peak at my Sarah Robarts painting always makes me happy!

I have some big ideas on what I want to put on the walls.  Would love your input though if you have any ideas.

Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surr Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surrey, restored back to its former grandeur. Grade II listed and stripped of most of its original character by previous owners, this 9,000 sqft home with seven bedrooms, and five bathrooms was brought back to life for a French-Swedish couple raising two young kids here. The brief: Parisian luxe with a Scandinavian twist, and a design calm enough to keep the grand proportions feeling intimate. Covet Noir rebuilt what had been lost: full plasterwork, raised & fielded panels, a bespoke decorative ceiling, and added a cantilevered limestone staircase with Nero Marquina cabochon inlay in the entrance hall. The material palette leans into marble and alabaster, softened with boucle and brushed cottons, chosen to hold up to two kids and two dogs without losing the elegance. Antique furniture and architectural fittings were sourced throughout to keep the project sustainable, alongside ground source heating. Grand bones, calm hand.
