Dining Room

Townhouse Dining Room Chic

October 29, 2019
  • Share

Today I’m covering an incredible Manhattan townhouse dining room. Created by legendary interior designer Sheila Bridges, this dining room is expertly designed! The home is extremely luxe and refined in style. The dining room stood out to me because of its unique design. The mix of colors, styles, and furniture creates a completely unique space. Instead of just showing you the dining room – I paired fall dresses to wear to a gathering at this home. Whether brunch, a long afternoon lunch, or a formal dinner these are the perfect dresses to wear!

A WEEKEND BRUNCH

This view of the dining room is full of light and showcases the china cabinet. This corner of the room is a very artistic and curated feeling. The multi-colored curtains add the perfect amount of color and softness to the room. I love the warm maple dining room table – It beautifully brightens the room. The chairs are a great design and balance the bulkiness of the china cabinet well.

When I saw this photo I immediately thought of a weekend brunch sitting next to these large windows. Coffee, tea, scones, and a full breakfast assortment to share with a handful of close to friends.

Johanna Ortiz – Exclusive On Your Horizon One-Shoulder Cotton Midi Dress | Aje – Overture Laced Ballet Maxi Dress

A fall brunch calls for a pop of warm color. This one-shoulder Johanna Ortiz dress is the perfect pick for a dressy brunch. The shape is very formal but, the color and fabric add just the right amount of casual to the dress. The voluminous sleeve creates a beautiful shape in conjunction with the end of the dress.

If orange isn’t your thing this white Aje dress is a great option. This dress also is the perfect combination of dressy + casual. The bold shoulders/arms are very in style and create a shape that highlights your waist! I love the smooth silhouette.

A CHIC LUNCH

This view of the dining room is much grander. The chandelier, high ceilings, and molding create a luxurious feeling. The two tall windows are perfectly framed by floor-length curtains and cast a sensational light onto the dining room table. The small painting between the windows adds the perfect touch of color and art to the room.

When looking at this image I think of a relaxing long afternoon lunch with family or friends. Snacking on a variety of salads, sandwiches, and a light dessert while catching up.

Sea – Monet Floral-Print Cotton-Poplin Midi Dress | Saloni – Bianca Baroque-Print Silk Midi Dress

A late afternoon lunch is relaxing and energizing. I knew these dresses had to have a bit more excitement to them – more of a statement. The midi dress with statement sleeve is a huge trend right now with good reason – it looks amazing on everyone.

First up a floral print dress by Sea. The mix of light pink and a bold pink is amazing in this dress. The pattern and color combination is so eye-catching! The higher neckline and sleeves make this dress a bit more formal. The second dress is a darling patterned dress by Saloni. I love the silhouette. It looks like it accentuates the waist area beautifully. The mix of green and pink creates an interesting and subtle pattern combination. Both of these dresses would look amazing with booties, kitten heels, or sneakers.

A DRESSY DINNER PARTY

On the other side of the dining room is a formal fireplace. The all-white fireplace looks incredible in contrast to the painting, decor, and interior of the fireplace. The molding has a simple and regal look. The blue and yellow tile flooring add an interesting twist to the room by providing some color and pattern. This small hint really livens up the area.

Looking at this area I immediately think about sipping some elaborate cocktails in front of the fireplace before a dressy dinner party with friends. A great space to catch up and unwind while snacking on some appetizers.

Proenza Schouler -Printed Silk-Blend Midi Dress | Johanna Ortiz – Ring of Fire Cotton – Blend Maxi Shirt Dress

For the dinner portion, these dresses are a bit more formal but equally as fun! First up is a long sleeve piece from Proenza Schouler. The colors and pattern of this dress are exciting and luxurious. The mock turtle neck and slim bodice give this dress a refined look.

Next up is a stunning dress from Johanna Ortiz. This maxi shirt dress becomes formal thanks to the sheen of the fabric and the detail of the garment. The v-neck followed by a tie creates a focal point. The statement long sleeves also add a layer of drama to this dress. Both of these dresses would look incredible with a classis heel!

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
