Trend Alert: The Macramé Movement Is Back!

May 23, 2018
  • Share

The macramé trend has found a second wind!

The bohemian textile art form of knotting and hitching is best known for its popularity in the ‘60s and ‘70s — and now (thanks to Instagram and Pinterest, probably), it’s back and better than ever!

From plant hangers, wall hangings, curtains, chairs, pillows… I’ve been seeing macramé more than ever!

Check out some of my favorite room inspiration and shoppable items (below)!

This is actually a snapshot of Tish Cyrus‘ family home in Nashville, which is equal parts farmhouse and modern! If you ask me, the macramé makes it feel California boho chic!

The trend is also being used for curtains, wedding backdrops, wall decor, you name it!

I’ve been seeing a lot of people hanging their macramé displays on doorknobs and pantries. Do you think this is chic or inconvenient?

Some people aren’t big fans while others are loving finding any corner of their homes to add a rustic touch. What do you think??
