Over the last 3-4 years, brass has had a huge come back in home decor. Gone is the shiny polished from the 1970’s and 80’s interior design – enter the new more subtle unlacquered brass accents that have taken over. Unlacquered brass is untreated brass that is more muted then its glossy shiny gold predecessor.
In our house in Malibu, we have white bronze door door handles, polished chrome bath fixtures, brushed nickel and stainless drawer pulls and kitchen faucet. Even with all of that silver tone hardware, I would still love a away to incorporate some unlacquered brass accents in one of the rooms. Will have to get TE on the unlacquered brass train though…need to prove to him that it is chic and modern.
Anyhooo…found this house by California interior designer Becki Owens. A house filled with brass accents. Notice how she mixes a silver kitchen faucet and the brass pendant lights in the kitchen. It works.
SHOP UNLACQUERED BRASS ACCENTS
Okay, even this cute vintage apple would be enough unlacquered brass for me. I may have to snag it!
What do you think of brass? Still into the trend? Or are you over it?

Gorgeous! I love the look of metallics like brass. The unlaquered look gives sort of a vintage feel to these rooms. Thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful brass accents designs. Must take some of the ideas for my new projects.
