Beautiful iron balcony railings from India at the Pasadena Rosebowl Flea Market!(above)
Was at the huge flea market at the Rosebowl last weekend. Saw so many interesting things…but these were perhaps the most interesting to me.
Each of these forged iron pieces must have weighed 751bs. Ran into a lady who was selling them just as we were about to leave. She said she got these balcony railings in Mumbai. Thinks she was selling them for $50 or $100 each. I can’t remember. But they were stunning examples of detailed antique ironwork from India. Wow! Couldn’t figure out what I would do with them. They were really heavy but so cool.
Thought you might enjoy. Working on some flea market posts (one as a guest post)…will have more for you re: my flea market adventures later!
Hope you have a great weekend.

I recently bought a beautiful tall table lamp made from an old iron baluster looking just like these!
These are a find! They might make for an interesting lawn ornament tucked in amongst some flowers? -Brenda-
Depending how big they are, you could paint them white stick rubber stoppers on one side and use them on the table as trivets. Would look amazing on my Jarrah table! And provide an interesting dinner time conversation.
Love these, I don’t have iron work from India but I did put some wrought iron gates in my garden just leaning against the wall in my yard you can see them here

I think you could do something very similar. These are fantastic!!
Gorgeous, reminds me of when I lived in Mumbai. Loved shopping there, so many gorgeous treasures.

I just recycled around 15 to 20,000 lbs of old cast iron pieces I didn’t actually think of selling them because I didn’t think anyone would want them. Oh well
