WEEKEND PHOTO: A LOVELY GARDEN GATE!

March 20, 2010
  • Share

A darling garden gate – the alluring opening to a classic white picket fence (from my photo archives…taken in Nantucket). A gate, like a door, symbolizes optimism to me. Endless possibilites on the other side.

Have a nice weekend!

xoxo

A picket fence and a gate are always such wonderful images. Love this little gate too. Perfect. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Marty

Very nice gate! The white pickets foreshawdow the porch railing. What I love most about it is that it doesn’t appear to be attached to a fence. Rather it is bordered by vegetation! Very nice.

Love pretty gates, painted or iron, add so much to an outdoor setting or an entryway.

I love the symbolism of the gate. I am a real Pollyana, and I love that I am. All that is good, but look at those hydrangeas! They are really special and remind me of my grandmother. Thanks for bringing that memory up for me today.

I would have guessed Nantucket, or maybe the Hamptons. The hydrangea are a dead giveaway! Love it.

I love white gates and the garden beyond looks so gorgeous! We have a similar gate on our house and everytime I go to the mail box I love it as it is the “gateway” to our home! Beautiful post.

You are right ! Always have loved them myself … and your reasoning makes perfect sense. Love how it swings out over grass … sweet.

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤
