I just like this picture of some colored glass on a store counter. This light purple colored antique glass arrangement drew me in…so I snapped a photo. Took it about a few months ago while doing a little weekend shopping down by the beach. Something romantic about this vintage glass. Compotes, cake plates, urns, dishes and bowls…all made from gorgeous lavender glass…just a dusting of color…not too overwhelming…just right! Perfect accents for the table, a credenza or buffet, inside a glass cabinet or just anywhere in the home.
Hope you enjoy your weekend!

It’s beautiful! what an amazing display, I love colored glass and since purple is my favorite color I really enjoyed this photo, what an amazing antiques shop.
Oh such pretty glass. I love the color. It is also a gorgeous vignette. Hugs, Marty
Oh I love pressed glass, especially these with just a tint of color. Beautiful picture =)
There is something about lavender/purple/amethyst glass that I also find beautiful, although I don’t really have any other than some wine glasses. Your photo is lovely. I suspect most of that glass evolved from clear to lavender from being left in the sun. I recently did a post on purple glass and vintage perfume bottles, and a purple table setting. Great minds think alike?
As a child in the 1940s, it was a special thrill to go visiting, and find a triple-layered crystal candy dish, filled with chocolate Non-Pariels, chocolate covered almonds dusted with cocoa powder, and chocolate malt balls.
Growing up in a candy-less home, I vowed that when “I grew up” I would have one. Have searched and searched, to no avail. I took a very close look at your photo, hoping to find the Holy Grail!
I want a lavender glass cake stand! Beautiful. A great find. =)
The effect of the sun in the picture is incredible.
The pieces are very beautiful and your photography is great.
I also love the old glass.
The painter, Janet Fish, would love this photo.
This picture made me stop in my tracks – my great aunt had a collection of lavender and peach glass in her china hutch. I hadn’t thought about it until I saw this. So pretty! Marija
It may be pretty, but it’s ruined EAPG glass. It was quite popular on ebay for awhile, but thousands of pieces of antique glass were ruined.
Here’s a link to an article that explains why it’s purple.
