A DECORATIVE PAGODA-STYLE BIRD CAGE

Custom painted in a glossy teal…a Chinoiserie inspired wood bird cage turns into a wonderful intricate decorative accent on my deck(above)

Okay…loving this decorative wood bird cage. I don’t have a bird but I now have a bird cage! Makes COCOCOZY sense…right? No bird, has bird cage, doesn’t want a bird but loves the cages that a bird would go in, should find more important things to be obsessed with but is obsessed with this bird cage….hmmmm….

I’ll use is it as a table center piece, as a delightful pop of color in my living room, it can work in any room, it can hold a small plant or flowers…who needs a bird anyway…right? No more vases or colorful jars or any of those other cliche decorative accents…bird cages all the way.

Actually…must give credit where credit is due…best of friend AM turned me onto bird cages during my last trip to New York. Here are AM’s favorite topics to talk about: her family (kids and husband), decorating her son’s room, anything Chinoiserie and bird cages…

What can I say…here I am after spending a few days with best friend AM now obsessing over a bird cage. Birds of a feather I guess… :-)!

At my little cocktail party the other day, I actually gave away a bird cage…we did a numbers guessing game and friend TH won it…would be interested to see what he’ll do with a bird cage! Anyhooo…

What do you think of my new decorative blue bird cage?

Happy Wednesday and first day of September!

LOVE IT! I decorated my music room with 2 vintage metal birdcages; I hung them from the ceiling and put candles in them. It gives the room height and looks beautiful next to the piano. Cheers!

LOL… My dear friend can get me all wound up and obsessive about something too. “Obsessive” and “with a vengence” is how we do most things around here! Cheers Christine

Today i saw a similar birdcage and thought how much i would love to own one. Im moving shortly so resisted the urge to buy one, as trying to downsize.

However, i’m on the lookout for french wrought iron furniture with big cushions for my next garden, and this birdcage would be the most wonderful addition, it’s definitely on my list of “things i need”.

I love it,mine will be filled with flowers and candles.

Please do share where you got it! I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time–I intend to put one in my kitchen window and grow herbs in it, and put on on my floor in my living room and grow catnip and cat grass in it–that way my kitty can munch on the leaves peeping through the bars, without destroying the plant. 🙂

I love this bird cage, great asian flair to it. Turquoise is my favorite color and I love bird accessories in general.

You can see one of my favorite bird inspired pieces below

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
