CARMEL BY THE SEA – NATURE’S DESIGN

Beach in Carmel, CA

Me at sunset on the beach at Carmel by the Sea – picture taken by TE (above)

Thought I would share these photos taken in Carmel, CA this past weekend.  TE and I drove up north to spend the weekend in what he describes as one of his most favorite places.   We left on Friday right after work and drove over 5 hours.  We arrived in Carmel at 10p and had a nice dinner at Casanova…a lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of town.

I had of course been to Carmel before…being a native Californian and all…but I had not seen the Carmel that TE knew so well (he had actually lived in the area at one point).

TE’s Carmel definitely was all about the outdoors…it included the most amazing 3.5 hour walk on Point Lobos (a California State Park right on the water) – what an incredible nature walk through a cypress forest overlooking the ever grand Pacific Ocean.  We walked on the beach at sunset…and we drank wine on the beach at midnight.  On Saturday afternoon, we stopped at the Mission Ranch Restaurant for a pre-dinner snack and sat on an outdoor patio overlooking a large meadow with sheep grazing in the distance.

We visited photography galleries with Ansel Adams prints, window shopped at night and enjoyed the festive vibe around town.

Here’s a look at some of the places we went in Carmel:

POINT LOBOS

Below are pictures of the absolutely majestic Point Lobos.  A must stop if you are ever traveling through California.  The forest of Monterey cypress and pine trees, the rocky shoreline, the unbelievable vistas…Point Lobos is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

MISSION RANCH RESTAURANT

Even while having a glass of wine and some evening appetizers, Carmel offered us a glimpse of nature in the form of farm life at Mission Ranch Restaurant.  Here a cute group of sheep relaxed in the glow of the setting sun…with a little black sheep (literally) doing his own thing and still grazing away!

A weekend designed to enjoy the natural beauty of the California coastline. I highly recommend!

Happy Tuesday!

P.S.  Best of friend FF and her hubby CCF are in town today (they are here for a black tie event)…TE and I are taking them to Malibu to our favorite spot there to watch the sunset and then to dinner at Nobu.  Will be fun.

P.P.S.  Need a part-time assistant!  Help.  Email resumes to [email protected] and I can send you a job description.  Must be in Los Angeles area.

Carmel is so quaint . . . it’s one of my favorite places to visit. Love the cottages and can spend hours walking the streets taking it all in.

Grew up in Carmel and ove the fact that the house looks so different from the standard Carmel cottage. Thanks for sharing.

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
