interiors This gorgeous colorful Spanish colonial home is located in Franklin Hills. It was designed by Reath Design! When I ran across this home tour I was immediately intrigued by how well this home does color. This home is full of bold color choices and prints. I didn’t think it was possible to create a home with so much going on but this house makes it look easy. It’s not my go-to style but it’s incredibly beautiful and brilliantly designed. The darker feel to the home is perfect for the fall season!

interiors Recently, I’ve been obsessed with exploring restaurant interiors. There’s just something breathtaking about walking into a perfectly designed restaurant. The colors, furniture, lighting, and scent all add together to create an ambiance. A restaurant is basically an extended home. A place to enjoy a meal in a beautiful or unique space. The space is just as important as the food they are serving. Let’s explore a handful of incredible restaurant interiors throughout the US and a few European locations.
interiors I have been a fan of Kate Marker Interiors for years. I constantly run into images of her work online and am immediately attracted to them. I will stumble upon an image that I’m in love with – the style, colors, textures, etc. just speak to me, when I look at the credits every time its Kate’s work. When I saw her start posting photos of @TheLeoCottage I knew I would have to share it with all of you. If you haven’t seen her work before you have been missing out.

fashion Is there anything more New Years than glitter and sparkles? I am not talking about what you wear to go out or stay in on Dec. 31st…I am talking about sparkling for the entire new year of 2019. Whether casual everyday or going out for a big night, your outfit doesn’t have to be the only thing that shines this next year. I was in NY earlier this month and my friend A.Ro, showed up to a party with her hair adorned in fabulous sparkling bobby pins on one side. It was so chic and festive. Simple but cute.
Why not dazzle in 2019 – on a hike, at work, out for coffee or a drink, at a dinner party or while walking around town…sparkle. From cheap to chic, I have you covered on dazzling sparkling bobby pins, clips, hairpins, headbands and more for the new year.
fashion Happy November 1st. We are two months away from the New Year! OMG. I don’t know about you, but here in Southern California, during early crisp mornings as I’m heading to work, I put on the perfect fall outfit and by lunchtime when the sun’s come out and it is 85 degrees, that cute fall outfit that was once a fashionistas dream is a little less climate appropriate. By evening, the wind is making me glad again I brought that extra sweater. That’s why I believe in layering and dressing for whatever temperature fall throws your way…no matter where you are in the country or outside of the country. Layer, layer, layer is the answer.
Here are my current favorite fashion forward fall looks for when it’s warm in the day and cooler at night.
home If I had to describe my style, it’s a mix of traditional and modern, so I love a rustic modern home. This home from Kate Marker Interiors is the perfect combination of bright and neutral. Tall ceilings and larger than life chandeliers define this rustic home.
From the exteriors to the foyer, the continued color scheme throughout sets the tone for this beautiful house tour.

travel My ode to fall continues with my first Fall City Guide listing all the unique fall things you can do in a city near you. Miami, Seattle, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. This guide covers all the fun things you can experience close to home. Events are happening all over this October and November. And I’m not just talking about pumpkin patch photo ops.
Not every fall activity is the same and no two cities have the same interesting things to offer. I suggest reading some of the interesting things going on in other cities too!
Maybe your town goes all out for Oktoberfest or celebrates fall with some mojitos. This fall, be a tourist in your own area and take advantage of the unique things your town or city and the surrounding area has to offer. Here are some of the unique events and sights to see near other US cities. Why not go out and explore?
home I have woken up the past two days crying thinking about the thousands of children being torn away from their mothers and fathers at the border of the United States of America. All in a matter of weeks.
As a result of the current administration’s “Zero Tolerance” policy, the migrant parents (who are often seeking asylum) are now being criminally prosecuted and jailed because they were looking for a better life for their families. I was stunned when I learned parents were being held in jails described as concentration camps for simply wanting to be an American. And their young children are left crying with no love and affection in facilities with horrifying conditions.
I am not a mom or a parent but empathy means that we are able to understand and sympathize with others regardless of their situation. My blog is not a political platform… but what I have seen over the last year and half from our country’s leadership has made me ashamed. The treatment of minorities, women, and those less fortunate is truly shocking.
