Home Tour – Rustic Modern Home Design

October 30, 2018
  • Share

If I had to describe my style, it’s a mix of traditional and modern, so I love a rustic modern home. This home from Kate Marker Interiors is the perfect combination of bright and neutral. Tall ceilings and larger than life chandeliers define this rustic home.

From the exteriors to the foyer, the continued color scheme throughout sets the tone for this beautiful house tour.

Take a look below!

I love the rustic wood beams and the light, natural floors. The combination frames the floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, giving the illusion of the outdoors coming in.

One great way to have a tv in your living room without drawing too much attention away from the design is to place it above the fireplace in leu of a mirror or frame.

I love floor-to-ceiling curtains. They give the illusion of a taller ceiling and softens the look of the space.

This large chandelier and cushion combination is amazing. Tie various neutrals together by adding cushions of similar colors to other chairs and love seats. The gray throw pillows on the brown leather couch tie in with the gray benches.

I love all-white kitchens. Add color to a white kitchen with gold detail and wood beams. The light natural floor and chairs are a great addition to a bright white kitchen.

Add dimension to a kitchen with a different colored kitchen island. I love this darker wood and marble combination.

These two floral frames beside the kitchen window look beautiful in that place.

Is there anything better than a Range Hood? I love this combination with the two gold-trimmed lights and island. What a beautiful white kitchen design.

This is a great idea for entertainment. Four of the same oversized chairs around a round wooden coffee table is a great idea!

I love the simpleness of this entrance and the sitting bench design. Clean and welcoming, this space is a great entry to the rustic modern home.

Carrying the same high ceilings and light, natural floors, the master bedroom’s four-post bed highlights the large space and emphasizes the natural light.

A great vaulted ceiling doesn’t just add height. It changes how a room feels entirely. The best ones make you stop, look up, and never want to leave.
Save this for your next build or renovation inspo. 🖤

Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅

A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
What do you do when you log off? Comment and let's give each other some ideas!😀
