Restaurant Interiors – Exploring Great Spaces

October 4, 2019
  • Share

Recently, I’ve been obsessed with exploring restaurant interiors. There’s just something breathtaking about walking into a perfectly designed restaurant. The colors, furniture, lighting, and scent all add together to create an ambiance. A restaurant is basically an extended home. A place to enjoy a meal in a beautiful or unique space. The space is just as important as the food they are serving. Let’s explore a handful of incredible restaurant interiors throughout the US and a few European locations.

THE FAT RADISH – SAVANNAH, GEORGIA

share

This restaurant looks contemporary, luxurious, and exploratory. I love the yellow-colored chairs and the written specials on the mirror. The textured/patterned grey walls add a unique depth to the space. The contrast between the grand wine glass cabinet and the lampshade + plant creates a fun relationship.

share

This view of the restaurant shows a lot of the vintage feeling in the space. The green booth and the chairs are an interesting combination. They work surprisingly well together. Overall, the color palette in this space is just stunning. The range of colors and shapes creates a dynamic yet, cohesive space.

This corner feels so bright and relaxing. I can just imagine eating a relaxing late lunch here. The half curtains are a great choice to add light while keeping some privacy. The addition of plants in this space was a great choice to keep a light feeling.

WHITE DOG CAFE – PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA

share

The White Dog Cafe is decked out in patterns and exciting wallpaper. I’m not always a huge fan of bold wallpaper but, in this space, it works. The contrast between the bright blue upholstered chairs and the green + yellow wallpaper is stunning. Not the mention, that dog painting is a fun touch.

I love the vintage yet, modern feeling of this bar. The choice to do a greyscale wallpaper is great. It works well next to the deep wood cabinetry. The labeled drawers give it a vintage feeling.

A little peek of the bathroom. The dog wallpaper is so fun! I love that it’s in black and white and sketched. I don’t think any other dog covered wallpaper would have worked. The teal works well with the soft cream color.

LE CLARENCE – PARIS, FRANCE

share

This Parisian location is simply divine. I’m in awe with the pastel colors mixed with white and deep wood accents. Looks like an incredible place to grab a coffee, drink, or casual meal. The space is so chic yet, feels so welcoming and open.

OSTERIA ANTICA ADELAIDE | QUADRI – VENICE, ITALY

share

This Italian location is ready to wow for a dinner date. The atmosphere looks incredibly romantic and luxurious. I love the mirror and art behind the table. Everything from the furniture to the lighting works together breathtakingly.

share

I’m crazy about the contrast between traditional fine art and modern abstract art. The addition of the pillows was the perfect way to create more visual interest in this space. I love the warm carmel colored bench in comparison to the light pastel wall.

FELIX – VENICE BEACH, CALIFORNIA

share

We have some more wallpaper going on. This restaurant interior is dark while also being inviting. I love the variety of blue with the mocha brown. The bold + bright wallpaper is a great contrast to the dark colors. Those large windows are incredible! I hope thats a direct view into the kitchen.

share

This area of the restaurant is so bright and inviting. I love the light bricks, book self, and unique shade of yellow. Together this space is intriguing! The subtly striped wallpaper in the bookshelf is gorgeous.

This view shows a simpler side of the space. This area is more modern and clean looking. It works in contrast with the wallpaper well.

FRENCHIE – CONVENT GARDENS, LONDON

share

This London restaurant has the most stunning color palette. I love the combination of mauve pink and light teal. The gold and beige accents complement it well. I really appreciate the different shapes in the light fixtures and furniture.

share

Those little lamps on the bar area are so cute. The choice to keep the industrial ceiling and make it white adds a touch of roughness to this sleek and modern space.

BAVEL – LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

share

Bavel in Los Angeles is beautifully designed. The half-circle yellow benches are incredible in the space. The simpler chairs and beige brick walls balance out the space. We can’t forget about those insane light fixtures!

share

The bar is so dynamic. The combination of arches and vines is great. I love the addition of the bright orange abstract bar stools in contrast to the teal in the shelves. Then there are the simple large white tiles of the bar to add some simplicity.

share

I cannot imagine dining under this haning plant fixture. That is so incredible! I love the relationship between the orange and green in the space.

SARTRE – CINCINNATI, OHIO

share

This Ohio restaurant was built for a nice dinner or important business deal. I love the moody yet modern feeling of the space. It’s not overwhelming which is refreshing. The light green mixed with the darker green is beautiful.

share

These curving booths are insane. I would love to lounge on one of these benches with some friends. The mix of sleek with the vintage light fixtures and the large tapestry is very interesting.

share

Classic and luxurious this bar is perfect if you need to impress someone. I love the dark marble counters and the dark wood columns.

LA MERCERIE – NEW YORK, NEW YORK

share

This New York restaurant is so whimsical while still being refined. I love the deep blue in contrast to the warm-colored flowers and greenery. The large blue booths really make this space unique! Those light pink curtain also add a beautiful feeling to the restaurant.

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming
“Be patient with yourself it has been a funky fe “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky few months in the world.” My friend Manon texted this advice to me today. She is right. A little patience and a lot of kindness to yourself and to others during these unusual times will go a long way.

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
