Cement Tiles Island Style – Tile File

Cement Tiles Blue Hexagon

Today I am zeroed in on cement tiles…floors island style.

So it has officially been a week since I got back from the Dominican Republic. My vacation glow is starting to wear off but the memories of the magical place where I stayed is still quite vivid.

Normally when I travel, I take a million photos. This time, I realized, I only took about a half a million. As I was scrolling through my photos this morning to do a story on all the wonderful cement tile floors at the Playa Grande Beach Club, I realized I really went on vacation this time.  I had only a portion of the photos I should have taken or thought I took.

Anyhooo…Playa Grande Beach Club is a boutique luxury hotel built and designed by NY money manager Boykin Curry with the interior design by Celerie Kemble and Kemble Interiors.  It is a design junkie’s dream hotel because there are so many details to enjoy.  One of which is the fantastic cement tiles throughout the resort.  In the bungalows, the clubhouse, on the patios, in gazebos, kitchens and more…the cement tile selection is spot on and adds a lively bit of whimsy to each space.

Here are a few tiles I actually took pictures of…there were so many more.  Must go back. Immediately?  Oh yes…I work. A second week long vacation may not be too wise for business purposes!  Right?  So next year.  I am going…to take pictures of tiles and to relax in the sun!

Hi! Sounds like a great trip. I can give you the name of the tile in your photos as we sell this tile.

3rd photo from top (on a porch) is “Toscana” pattern.

The tile in the last position in your blog, and 3rd from last also is called “Malaga” .

These patterns can be ordered in any combination of colors.

The Hexagonal blend is like what we call “Mixed Aqua Hex” . We also stock a “Mixed Coral Hex” blend.

We know these patterns well as we import and sell these tiles from the D.R.

    Best wishes, Lundy
