COCOCOZY DESIGN HOUSE

COCOCOZY Design House -The Living Room

January 16, 2020
  • Share

After the launch of the COCOCOZY Design House video series on Amazon Prime Video last week (will tell you more about that next week), without further ado I’m back with more images for the COCOCOZY Design House living room. It’s been a while since the first posts about the COCOCOZY design house and I have been receiving countless messages about when the next installment would be. I’m so excited to share more images with all of you! I feel so thankful that the Design House has been covered by a variety of interior design websites – but now it’s time to show some never before seen photos from the living room.

The grand view of the living room of the COCOCOZY Design House from under the archway. Before I had a chance to list the home on the market my sister scooped it up and bought it! She immediately fell in love with the entire home – the exterior, the interior, the layout, furniture everything. She bought it as is fully furnished and hasn’t touched anything. Every time I visit it looks pretty much the same! It’s nice to get to spend more time in this home since the project meant so much to me.

Here is a closer view of the living room. It took a lot of patience to source items that I felt strongly enough that fit my vision, but it was well worth the hunt. I’m so happy with how this space turned out. Through all of my designs, I love to create a layered look without creating clutter. More on the sourcing of items next!

I layered the rugs to create an interesting combination of pattern + texture. Towards the end of the process, I knew it needed a side table. Eventually, it hit me that a clear acrylic side table was the perfect answer! A regular side table would have made the design look bulky. As a finishing touch, I placed some of my own original artwork on the wall behind the chairs.

A closer view shows off the perfect pillows I hunted forever for. I knew I wanted a specific plaid to work with the other black and white patterns. The box on the side table is one of my COCOCOZY lacquer boxes. It was the perfect item to finish out the stack of coffee table books.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this corner originally then I stumbled upon the idea of a sleek and simple small sitting area. The pillow on top of the pouf is a one-of-a-kind knit COCOCOZY logo pillow. My mill that knits my throws surprised me years ago with a pillow with my logo repeated. It was such a thoughtful gift!

I love these inset arched shelved so much. They are one of the highlights of the room in my opinion. This art piece is by one of my talented friends/artist Sarah Robarts. The painting looks sensational in this nook with the surrounding pieces.

Another view shows off a close up of the couch. I love the combination of black and white patterns throughout the space and knew the couch needed some print for added flair. When I found this pillow and throw I knew they would be perfect. I added a cream lamp to keep the space bright and light.

For this shelf, I knew I needed to source a variety of interesting trinkets. The flea market ended up being a major jackpot. The brass clocks and hippo bookends are both flea market finds. I love the end color relationship between the warm tones and blues/greens.

For the fireplace, I went with a gold ornate mirror to add some opulence and a luxe factor to the space. The horseshoe was put there for good luck. I bought a bunch of rusty horseshoes and cleaned them up and placed them throughout the house.

Another view of the room shows off the other side of the space and how the living room flows into the rest of the home. I love the archways between rooms – they are my favorite detail of the home. They add so much charm! This also shows off the layered rugs. I love using a huge rug in a living room to create a sense of space and coziness.

For the center coffee table, I opted for wood to add a dash of warmth. The green vase I sourced to sell in my online store years ago. Now it ended up being the perfect addition to this table. I had to add some greenery since I’m a huge fan of using plants in all designs.

A close up of CCOCOZY lacquer box takes center stage. It looks so great stacked on top of coffee table books plus also provides the perfect secret storage for remotes and other small things.

A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not overpowering, just enough to warm everything up, walls, upholstery, even the smallest details.
It shifts the mood completely. Calmer, softer, and a little more lived in.
Save this if you’re leaning toward softer, warmer spaces. 🌸

What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so hard to look away from is the deliberate clash Sophie Dries @sophiedries_ created and didn’t try to resolve.
The bones of the apartment are pure Haussmann: ornate cornicing, carved boiserie, a marble fireplace with a gilded mirror. Everything a 19th-century Parisian apartment should be. Then she placed a near-black dining table with brass-legged stools into the middle of it. A raw concrete-look bathroom behind the grandeur. Dark, sculptural objects on surfaces that were built for delicate things.
It works because she didn’t try to blend the two, she let them sit in contrast. The apartment feels lived-in and specific because of it.
→ Save this if you’re mixing old architecture with contemporary furniture.

From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the pap From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the paper lantern just fits. It softens the room, diffuses the light, and rounds out even the sharpest architectural edges without demanding any attention. 🏮
Are you into paper lanterns, or do you prefer a more structured statement light? 🧐

Streets of #Paris. 📍 Rue de Castiglione — Laid ouStreets of #Paris. 📍
Rue de Castiglione — Laid out under Napoleon in the early 1800s, this neoclassical street connects Place Vendôme to the Tuileries Garden in one clean, symmetrical line.
Place de Furstenberg — A tucked-away square in Saint-Germain-des-Prés that was once home to the painter Eugène Delacroix, and still feels like little has changed.
Les Antiquaires on Rue du Bac — A street with centuries of history, now best known for its cluster of antique dealers trading in furniture, paintings, and curiosities and home to @les_antiquaires_paris bistro which is an easy spot to grab a bite near the Seine.
Musée du Louvre — Built as a medieval fortress in the 12th century, it became a royal palace, then the world’s most visited museum, home to the Mona Lisa and tens of thousands of other works.
Église Saint-Sulpice — Paris’s second-largest church, with a gnomon installed inside to track the sun’s position and help calculate the liturgical calendar.
Les Deux Magots — The Saint-Germain café where Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre, and Hemingway once gathered, and a lasting symbol of Paris’s literary culture.
Place Vendôme — Commissioned under Louis XIV, this octagonal square is anchored by the Vendôme Column, cast from cannons captured at the Battle of Austerlitz.
Shops, people, and buildings that make you stop for a second and look up. Every corner feels different. Old, detailed, and full of life. Sometimes this is the best part. Just being here. ❤️

Nour Arida’s (@nouraridaofficial) Paris apartment Nour Arida’s (@nouraridaofficial) Paris apartment was designed to feel like a little piece of Beirut — a pied-à-terre that keeps her connected to Lebanon while living in France.
Architect Carl Gerges @carlgergesarchitects built the whole interior around warmth and softness: a caramel sofa, a pink kitchen, milky whites throughout. Nothing sharp, nothing cold. The palette reads as indulgent without trying. It’s the kind of space that feels like it was chosen for comfort first and aesthetics second, even though both are clearly considered.
What’s easy to miss is the restraint underneath it all. The softness works because it’s disciplined. Every piece earns its place in the same tonal story.
→ Save this if you’re building a warm, tonal interior from scratch.
