COCOCOZY DESIGN HOUSE

Dream Bedding – Pom Pom at Home x COCOCOZY Design House

February 19, 2019

Recently, House Beautiful highlighted two of the COCOCOZY Design House bedrooms in a house tour feature story.  As you know I was so thrilled to see my design work on such a prestigious site.  The COCOCOZY Design House has a total of four bedrooms. It was so much fun dreaming up each room and making it come to life.   When I was thinking about bedding for the COCOCOZY Design House, the only bedding I wanted was Pom Pom at Home. I have their bedding in my current master bedroom so I knew the style and quality was a perfect fit for this design project.

Here is a little close up on two of the bedrooms!

COCOCOZY Design House Bedding

Hilde Leighat who owns Pom Pom at Home has been a friend for years now.  She started this exquisite bedding line about 10 years ago. I first learned about Hilde because of her amazing home furnishing stores that she owned here in  Los Angeles.  I met her in person after she morphed her furniture stores into a brand of exquisite bed linens. Here’s more on about Pom Pom at Home.

Hilde and Wendy Guevara, Pom Pom at Home’s VP of Production,  gave me the entire store to pick from for bedding. Anything I wanted. This was literally a bedding dream!

MASTER BEDROOM BEDDING

For the Master bedroom, I wanted to use crisp high contrast black and white.  Here I used the Oslo white quilted coverlet and the big chunky Finn throw in black.  It’s just simple elegance.

Good bedding that is pretty, fresh, soft and inviting makes a bedroom.  I cannot emphasize how much I think a well-made bed can make actually living in a space transformative.  Waking up to nice sheets, soft pillowcases and to wonderful blankets is so therapeutic really.  Adding a bit of style is SO essential.

I also used linen fitted sheets in white, the Parker Cotton Percale duvet set in white, and the for the pillows, I chose the Layla White Euro eyelet pillowcases.  Subtle texture.

LOWER LEVEL BEDROOM

The lower level bedroom is the bonus room in the house.  It is the only room that has red in it and is a little more casual and playful than the rest. I wanted the room to feel sporty and casual.

The biggest stand out for me are the amazing dark grey crocheted bed skirts I used in this room.

I mixed and matched textures and patterns here…with stripes and solids…textured linens and pillows with trim.

Since this lower level bedroom has a more sporty eclectic feel to it, I used a big striped Malibu pillow on the bed and the macrame pillowcases.  On the sofa across from the bed (not pictured), I added in a softer multi textured Ziggy throw and pillow.

I, of course, has to add in one of my own COCOCOZY Chain pillows into the mix too!

I am just in love with that black and white dresser. Was this a custom piece? I would never have thought to mix the colors in such a way, but it is just exquisite!

I painted a vintage dresser. It was dark stained wood that I decided to color block!

Love the white bed frame. Could you share the source please? TIA.

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
