De Gournay Wallpaper with Suzie Kondi

January 24, 2020
  • Share

De Gournay wallpaper is everywhere right now! It feels like its following me. Every time I go on Instagram or Pinterest I see a new interior using it. A friend of mine fashion designer – Suzie Kondi got it on my radar. The cover image is of her stunning bedroom! That wallpaper is simply beautiful. It also tastefully fits in with the rest of the room. I love the use of a driftwood-Esque headboard, a white comforter and a quilt she found at a flea market. It’s the perfect mix of chic, nature, and vintage.

Suzie completely inspired this post from her stunning interior. But before we dive into the home interiors we have to talk about her fashion company Kondi. Her line “Features safari suits, lurex, French Terry and a much-needed upgrade of the velour tracksuit” and I couldn’t be more in love with her products. They are the perfect mix between chic, luxury, and casual.

Olive Slim Track Pants, Steel Cropped Crew Top, Teddy High Waist Harlem Pants, Cashmere Cardigan, Ivory Lurex Jumpsuit

First off this range of tracksuits is amazing! The color range has everything you could possibly want and each color packs a subtle saturation. Depending on what you are into there are slim track pants and high waist wider leg pants known as Harlem Pants. Besides that Kondi also has cashmere, lurex jumpsuits, and linen basics that are anything but boring. Plus a kids line!

Back to De Gournay, we are exploring a handful of breathtaking spaces! This bedroom is everything I have dreamed of. The wallpaper has a wonderful color palette and an assortment of birds, branches, and florals. The rest of the room is classic, neutral and elegant. I love that the bedding and curtains pull of colors from the wallpaper.

Now, this bedroom + bathroom is ultra-glam. The beige base color in the wallpaper really sets the tone for this room. I love the panel like finishing! The bedding perfectly matches the key colors and makes this room shine. That velvet headboard looks divine. But, that bathroom is on another level of chicness.

The next bedroom takes on a pastel feminine flair. This wallpaper is bursting with light color. The green is a bold choice but is balanced well in this room. The excess of flowers creates a beautiful setting. The bones of this room are also worth mentioning. The high ceilings and molding make this room!

Now, this bathroom and vanity space are decked out in a wonderful De Gournay wallpaper. The light green covers the space. The hints of blue, yellow, pink, and white keep the green from being overwhelming. This wallpaper is a genius choice for this wall before entering the other room.

Each of these wallpapers is different but looks so similar. This wallpaper has various pops of a subtle blue among other colors. This wallpaper looks great with the marble, gold, and pops of pink in the rest of the interior. This wallpaper is such a focal point that blends the whole interior together.

This bedroom out of the rest of the interiors takes the most saturated approach to this wallpaper trend. The vibrant blues and purples create nice accents. I love the deep woody-bronze headboard paired with this wallpaper if it makes for quite the combination. The whire bedding is the perfect blank space to balance the color and pattern in this room.

The right chandelier doesn’t just light a room, it becomes the room. Scale, material, placement. When it’s done right, everything else arranges itself around it.

Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive.Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive. 🌸
One thing I’ve learned is that every outdoor space needs a focal point. It gives your eye a place to land and makes the whole space feel more intentional.
In this courtyard, the bougainvillea naturally becomes that focal point, adding color, height, and movement without overwhelming the space.
If you’re designing your own patio or garden, start with one standout feature, then let everything else support it.
Save this tip for your next outdoor project. ✨

Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surr Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surrey, restored back to its former grandeur.
Grade II listed and stripped of most of its original character by previous owners, this 9,000 sqft home with seven bedrooms, and five bathrooms was brought back to life for a French-Swedish couple raising two young kids here. The brief: Parisian luxe with a Scandinavian twist, and a design calm enough to keep the grand proportions feeling intimate.
Covet Noir rebuilt what had been lost: full plasterwork, raised & fielded panels, a bespoke decorative ceiling, and added a cantilevered limestone staircase with Nero Marquina cabochon inlay in the entrance hall. The material palette leans into marble and alabaster, softened with boucle and brushed cottons, chosen to hold up to two kids and two dogs without losing the elegance. Antique furniture and architectural fittings were sourced throughout to keep the project sustainable, alongside ground source heating.
Grand bones, calm hand. This is the kind of restoration we could look at all day. 🤍

A great vaulted ceiling doesn’t just add height. It changes how a room feels entirely. The best ones make you stop, look up, and never want to leave.

Before you start moving furniture, ask yourself thBefore you start moving furniture, ask yourself these three questions:
Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅
Save this for the next time you’re tempted to move every piece of furniture in your house.
