COLOR WATCH: BRIGHT FRONT DOORS!

Why not greet the world with a bright front door? A cheery way to leave the house or come home. Might be a way to add a bit of sunshine inside and outside your home as the we move into gloomy winter months.

What is the brightest color you would go with for your front door? My front door is brown.

My door was yellow as painted by the previous home owner and I actually went brown…hmmm….may have to rethink my door color!

Happy Wednesday!

If my house wasn’t yellow, I would be all over a yellow door- love! Slightly off topic but that Manuel Canovas wallpaper is ridiculously amazing!

I LOVE DOORS! I think that in America, we do not appreciate our front door as much as those in other countries. A beautiful or unique front door creates such an amazing impression. I recently painted my door a light aqua color (was white) and then I painted my house numbers a soft yellow to add a splash of color on our beige home. I would pretty much do any color for my door!

I love these. We have a new house – brown door. I would love to paint it, but we live in an association. Not sure if we can. After seeing these, I will have to check and see what I can do.

There is ONE place in America that does appreciate amazing front doors – check out Santa Fe, New Mexico if you ever need any ideas. Particularly Canyon Road, which is recognized as one of the most beautiful streets in the country.

Love painted front doors. It adds a bit of personality to a row of similar looking houses. Any color works for me from a rich glossy black to a sunny yellow to a bright orange or fuchsia, if it says something about you that is all that matters.

I have a deep toned taupe house with a chinese orange door. My husband tried to talk me out of it, but to no avail. I get positive comments all the time, I love it!

Our front door has been a lot of different colours, including purple. Now it’s turquoise – it’s bright & happy, and I love it 🙂

Also love the bright green door in your first picture 🙂

i’ve always wanted a boldly coloured door. since i’m part of a condo, we all have the same boring beige door and are not allowed to paint it.

my solution… paint the inside of my door!

Beautiful and fun! My front door is Benjamin Moore’s Lightning Bug- looks similar to the last ‘yellow’ door. It makes me happy every time I arrive home.

I’m loving the doormat outside of the yellow door.

Would love to paint my door a bold color – unfortunately, my assoc. has rules against it.

My front door is purple. I was going for eggplant but it is just bright purple and it can’t handle any more coats of paint! It’s grown on me now.

Totally agree with earmark. Front doors should really say something about the people living behind them. And, more often then not people go for the standard, blending in front door. I would love to drive thru the neighborhoods around where I live and see a lot more pop of color!

I paint my front door a new color every year. Right now it is a bright Lime Green. It has been yellow, burgundy, grey and many others. Next I think it will be Turquoise. I love color!

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
