CROSSBODY BAGS – FROM CHEAP TO CHIC

March 4, 2020
  • Share

Over the summer in Europe, I saw crossbody bags EVERYWHERE. It was like everyone I saw had a super stylish small crossbody bag meanwhile, I was carrying around a lightweight spacious tote bag everywhere. There was also a ton of people with fashionable belt bags around their chests. Through my research, I found a couple of styles that can be worn that way but are a bit more elevated looking.

Before I started looking into buying a crossbody bag I was pinterest-ing like crazy. Left and right images of crossbody bags caught my eye. Here are some of my favorite images I found that helped me pick out the perfect options.

I need to purchase a crossbody bag asap for my next trip. I thought what was a great post idea – to show all of the awesome bags in a variety of price points that I find. From cheap to chic all of my crossbody bag picks that are perfect for any situation!

Top Shop – Mini Celia | Matt and Nat – Large Sam | Madewell – Leather Crossbody Wallet

First up are bags under $100. There are plenty of options even cheaper than these – but I always try to spend at least $50 on a bag for a better quality product that I will be less likely to toss after a trip.

This green Topshop bag is super cute and very on-trend with current styles. Green is a great fall bag color that works well with fall wardrobes. I love the buckle detailing and addition of the top handle. The perfect sized bag for a day exploring or an evening out! The brown option from Matt and Nat is a vegan and sustainable option for those looking to minimize their impact and have an efficient bag. This no-frills bag will compliment any outfit and keep your valuables safe. The final option under $100 is from Madewell. This leather bag is much more expensive looking than it is thanks to the pebbled leather and gold chain. This envelope purse is just waiting for a night out on the town or a casual day strolling through the city. Such a chic option!

Botkier – Astor Crossbody | Rebecca Minkoff – Edie Crossbody Wallet | Coach – Hayden Croc-Embossed Crossbody Bag

Next up is bags under $200 and these bags really hit the sweet spot between style and affordability. The first bag by Botkier looks like it’s much more expensive than it really is. The minimalist design shines! Such a great bag that would be perfect for any event. Next up is a gorgeous chevron-quilted bag by Rebecca Minkoff. Rebecca Minkoff is one of my go-to’s for an affordable mid-designer level bag. The color and detail on this bag are incredible and the hardware adds a fun flair. The final option from Coach is a bit trendier with the croc-embossed leather exterior. This nude bag is perfect for day to night and will hold all of your essentials with ease.

Chylak – Mini Crossbody Shoulder Bag | Ratio Et Motus – Mini Twin Crossbody Shoulder Bag | See By Chloe – Mara Suede Crossbody Shoulder Bag

First up is more of a belt bag style crossbody. This small bag is super chic and just fits the essentials. It makes it seem like you aren’t even carrying a bag. I love the snakeskin patterned exterior and the combo of colors. Next up in the $300-$600 range is a gorgeous dark teal bag that has a more formal shape. The thick strap adds a nice detail while the opening adds a nice hint of silver. This looks like a great bag for someone who likes a bit more structure. The final bag is a See by Chloe bag. This line is a great option for those who like Chloe but don’t love the price tag. This suede bag is the perfect color for fall to blend with all types of outfits. Again a great assortment for day or night – work or exploring!

Tibi – Toujours Petit Crossbody Bag | Hunting Season – Napa and Straw Trunk Bag | Victoria Beckham – Eva Crossbody Shoulder Bag

First up in the $600-$1000 range is a gorgeous bag from Tibi. This bag is perfect for those looking for a black bag that is anything but boring. The texture/pattern and silver hardware are great accents on this bag. The next bag by hunting season is a great option for those who are in love with the wicker purse trend. This option blends colors beautifully to take that trend from summer to fall. Since this bag is so scructured it will fit everything you need and more. The final bag by Victoria Beckham is a very classic style and color. This sleek bag is a great timeless investment piece. I love the deep purple shade with the gold hardware.

Bottega Veneta – BV Crossbody Shoulder Bag | Loewe – Gate Medium Crossbody Shoulder Bag | Gucci – Tiger Colorblock Crossbody Shoulder Bag

For those with a bit of extra cash looking to invest in a forever crossbody bag here are some high-end options ranging from $2,000-$5,000. The first bag by Bottega Veneta is a natural-born classic that will never go out of style. The soft cream color with gold hardware is divine and so polished looking! For those looking for a sleeker black bag that is still visually interesting this Loewe bag is the perfect option. The leather details are exquisite and add just the perfect touch of interest. Lastly is a Gucci bag. This color combo is too-die-for for fall. The tiger color-blocked design is perfect for wearing with a variety of different outfits. Each of these bags is a great option for a casual or formal affair.

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
