August 16, 2022
  • Share

The Fall season is coming. Don’t believe us? Stop by your local Target and you’ll already see pumpkin decor and fall-themed knick-knacks. Some stores have already put out the Halloween candy. To be honest, I think that’s a little premature. Anyhoo, while summer is winding down, the COCOCOZY team is narrowing down our favorite Fall 2022 Predictions. We’ve included affordable home decor, paint colors, and design styles. If you’re unsure of what to expect then browse our Fall 2022 predictions.

Home Decor Trends

What’s trending in home decor for fall? Don’t worry it’s not pumpkin-shaped pillows or anything pumpkin related. Although, HomeGoods is never short of a cute pumpkin throw pillow and matching blanket. If you’re looking for something a little more fresh and elegant, then see the list of home decor trends to expect for the autumn season.

1. Mix and Match Vintage with Modern Decor

Now is the perfect time to go thrift shopping and spend weekends at estate sales. It’s time to hunt down the best vintage finds to add to your modern spaces. This fall is all about balancing two different styles to create a fresh look. The vintage decor will add the charm and character that your modern decor is missing.

2. Organic Materials

This summer trend will carry over into the next season. Keep your ceramic vases and dishes, because organic materials will still be popular in the autumn. You can fill up a ceramic bowl with pine cones and freshly picked apples. Or redecorate with a new wood coffee table and matching end tables. The more organic furniture the better for fall.

3. Warm and Cozy Nooks

If you have an empty corner in your home, then it looks like you have a new idea for a fall project. Cozy nooks are essential in your home. Who doesn’t want to cozy up with a great new book and a fuzzy throw blanket? Create a rustic bookshelf and add custom bench seating. Find a stylish floor lamp to add some ambiance to your nook.

4. Rippled and Unsymmetrical Mirrors

The traditional mirror doesn’t cut it anymore. This fall is all about adding unique mirrors to your home. Mirrors that feature ripples, curves, and playful details that will make your guests stop and stare.

5. Earth Tone Paint Colors

Earth tones are trending for fall. That includes lush hues of green and soft blues. There’s no need to paint another room in your house gray. It’s all about soft color palettes and nature-inspired walls. To take it to the next level, plaster is a painting technique that will be trending all throughout autumn. See some of our favorite paint colors below.

Stay tuned for more fall-inspired content coming soon. A new season means a new wave of new products and essentials. It might be controversial, but I believe there is nothing better than new fall fashion. Go to Chirpyest‘s blog to see more inspiration here.

Some homes just feel special the moment you walk iSome homes just feel special the moment you walk in.
From the limestone fireplace in the living room to the informal dining space, a peek into the scullery, and finally the kitchen where the island becomes the heart of it all, every space flows effortlessly into the next.
Thoughtful design. Beautiful light. A layout that truly works. ❤️
This is what a dream home looks like when vision and craftsmanship come together.

Part 2 - Marathon. So as the saying goes, “if at Part 2 - Marathon. So as the saying goes, “if at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” I will run a marathon. I will hit the road again, train again and I will run. Watch me. Last Sunday, however, wasn’t my marathon day...
I made the best of it nonetheless. If I couldn’t run, I was certainly going to be part of LA spirit and cheer the runners on.
As many may know, I was supposed to be running the Los Angeles Marathon last weekend. After 14 weeks of training and finishing my 19 mile run, I strained a muscle. I went to physical therapy every other day hoping I could still run, but the pain was still there the day before the marathon so I had to call it.
But an injury didn’t stop me from being there. I showed up to Rodeo Drive anyway.
I watched the elite runners fly by, tracked friends, and ended up cheering for three hours. Fast runners, struggling runners, and the later runners still grinding it out.
A friend texted saying she knew the day must have been hard for me. But honestly, it wasn’t. It was just fun, inspiring, and electric.
I will be on the road soon...running a race! Can’t wait!
Design starts underfoot. From checkerboard marble Design starts underfoot. From checkerboard marble to warm brick and classic parquet, these floors do more than ground a space. They bring texture, history, and character into the room. 🏁😍

A bedroom that feels like stepping into a story. A bedroom that feels like stepping into a story.
This stunning space is a beautiful example of timeless design. The canopy bed, scenic mural walls, and soft layers of green and blue create a room that feels both elegant and serene. ✨
Rich wood tones, classic antiques, and cozy textures add warmth, proving that traditional interiors can feel elevated yet deeply inviting.

So here I am. Or maybe more honestly, here I got. So here I am. Or maybe more honestly, here I got. This was 2 weeks ago.
Nineteen miles into training for my first marathon. Sixteen weeks ago I had never run before. I was a complete beginner, running three days a week, slowly teaching my body and brain how to do something totally foreign.
Somewhere along the way, running stopped being about miles. It became meditation. Rhythm. Breath. Focus. Control. A place where I learned how much of “this is hard” actually lives in our heads.
I still remember an early five mile run where I panicked after the first mile. Heavy breathing. Doubt. Wanting to quit. And then realizing nothing was actually wrong. I just had to think differently and keep going.
After this 19 mile run, my body had other plans. Injury. Two weeks of rest, physical therapy, and still no real ability to put pounding running pressure on my right leg. Marathon day is close and the outcome is uncertain. I am hoping for a miracle, but I am also being honest with reality.
At minimum, this was my marathon. Nineteen miles. A mental shift. A body that learned. Proof that we can do hard things even when the ending is unclear.
Whether I run on Sunday or not, I already crossed a finish line I never thought I could.
And here’s the part I think matters for you. Progress does not always look like a finish line. Sometimes it looks like showing up, rewiring your thinking, and staying with something even when the outcome is uncertain.
Part 2 is about what happens when plans fall apart and what I learned in the space between pushing and letting go. And we’ll find out if I can run on Sunday.
