New Orleans Penthouse – House Tour

February 9, 2016

New Orleans Penthouse Apartment Window View

Today in honor of Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) I bring you inside a New Orleans penthouse that is right along that city’s parade route on St. Charles Avenue. I LOVE New Orleans. My best of friend FF with her husband and son (who is also my godson). It has been about six year since I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and rode in a parade, throwing beads to thousands of people and attended a black tie ball wearing long white gloves where FF’s husband was the king of his krewe – I wrote about that experience here. What a magical fun time. I miss New Orleans. Next year, without a doubt, I plan on being in New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

New Orleans is a city filled with grand homes and amazing residential architecture. I have visited some unbelievable spaces while there in the past. Always homes though. So I thought this cute penthouse featured here was a change of pace.

Located at 3823 St. Charles Avenue, this top floor apartment has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths in 2500 square feet. It is listed for $1.45 million by Dorian Bennett of Sothebys.

Here is the real estate listing description:
“Chic Penthouse in prime location on St. Charles Ave. featuring balcony with magnificent views. Located in sought after Emlah Court, designed by famed New Orleans architect Moise H. Goldstein. Fabulous residence features bright airy living with three bedrooms and three baths, formal dining, designer kitchen and breakfast room. Master suite includes quiet sitting room and sun porch. Building amenities feature elevator, security system with cameras, courtyard for entertaining, roof access, and gated parking.”

A pied-a-terre in New Orleans. That would be fun! Right?

Laissez le bon temps rouler! Happy Mardi Gras!

P.S.  A shout out to FM and her family.  FM is my best of friend FF’s neighbor and dear friend.  FM and her family are so awesome…last time I was in New Orleans, FM invited me over for an impromptu “wine party” at her sister’s house and I had so much fun.

P.P.S.  FLASH PILLOW SALE – Today is the last day to get our Etoile pillow for 20% off.  Just enter COCOBW at check out for the discount!  In honor of Mardi Gras!

What a fabulous little place! I used to have a place not far from this building on the next street back- Prytania, and am very familiar. I love the decor! So light and bright. Happy Mardi Gras to you too!!

Summer sale season is here, and we are not holding back. 👏
This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.
✨ Want to make it yours?
Comment SALE and we’ll send you the link. Then just tap “Add This Board” to save it to your Chirpyest account.
Or grab the link here 👉 https://www.chirpyest.com/s/cocoedit/summer-sale-2026/2071?mode=share
From there, you can shop the collection, share it with your audience, earn from your recommendations, and get cashback on your own purchases. 💛

A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

Panic mode activated!
If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.
Save this for the next time you need a fast bedroom reset. 🔖

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
What do you do when you log off? Comment and let's give each other some ideas!😀
