OH MALIBU – MY DAY BY THE SHORE!

A panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean on the grounds of a grand Malibu estate! (above)

This is where I spent a few hours of my day today…at a small brunch…in Malibu…at a beautiful estate on the water. A wonderful time – interesting art, great conversation, meeting a world renowned interior designer (our host was so gracious to introduce me although I think I may have scared the designer when I said I had a blog…could my fear of being a social leper by calling myself a blogger be confirmed?…anyhoooo…I’ll worry about that tomorrow), social chatter, delicious food…all in a divine home with magnificent views of the ocean and spectacular views of the hills of Malibu.

I only took this one photo. No more… it would have been oh so rude to be snapping photos of this home when there for a purely social gathering. This photo of the view, however, tells a lot.

Oh Malibu!

Happy Sunday!

Even by that one photo I can guess it was the fabulous estate done by Michael Smith that was featured in Architectural digest earlier this year, and featured extensively in his book. I am so jealous, an amazing house that I would love to see around.

But those of us that are stuck in the soon to be wretched midwest weather, really wish you had been rude 🙂 We need our fantasy fix!

Hi Anonymous…I can tell you that the home I went to is NOT the house from elledecor that you linked to.

I have been in many grand homes…this was the grandest by far…HUUUUUUUUGGGGE estate. Really. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Very tastelful and elegant. The host and hostess were so gracious and they made all of the guests (who were in total awe…jaws dropped to the floor) feel right at home.
    xoxo

You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.

So today, I took my work somewhere else. ☕️💻
A little change of scenery, a different view, a few hours away from my usual desk and somehow the workday felt a little lighter.
I’ve found that working somewhere else can be a nice reset when I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, or just too used to the same routine. It’s not necessarily about being more productive; sometimes it’s just about making the day feel different.
A little workday change of scenery with me. 🤍
