SEE THIS HOUSE: AN ALL AMERICAN $8.5 MILLION HAMPTONS HOME!

May 22, 2012
  • Share

The official start of summer is drawing near. Am on the late freight as I try to think about summer plans. I know I have to be in Atlanta and New York for trade shows to present the COCOCOZY textiles collection again in July and August; and I plan on going to for a quick 2 day trip to Nantucket (I hope) and am noodling with the idea of going to Marrakesh in June with my sis DS and my mother (although highly unlikely due to my work schedule and my COCOCOZY schedule). All this to say…for the 2nd summer in a row, I’ll probably most likely be dreaming of a proper vacation – a week off or more off to relax and kick back with friends and family in some fantatic place.

So since I know I’ll be in dream mode…I think I’ll continue my summer dreaming in the Hamptons! Here’s another Hamptons multi million dollar home that could possibly suffice as my hypothetical beach vacation home!

The home is listed by Sotheby’s International Realty, this traditional shingle style home has 8,000 square feet, 7 bedrooms, 7.5 baths on 1.6 acres of land right near the desired Parsonage Pond.  Cathedral beamed ceilings in the living room.  Heated pool and pool house.

Please decide if this is the type of place of beach house you’d like to go to in the summer.  Notice the patriotic 4th of July themed living room!  Check out today’s SEE THIS HOUSE!

This house may not be my first choice…but if someone chose to give me this house…I would snap it up before they could blink. What do you think? Do you like this summer home or do you dislike?  What do you think of the red, white and blue Americana patriotic decor?  Would this be the type of place where you’d spend a week in the summer or would you much rather go someplace else (or stay home)? Please, I want to hear about your dream summer week off!

Happy Tuesday!

I would definitely spend a week here if offered, but my dream week would be somewhere with sand and warm blue water:)

I so need a vacation and would happily stay there.
My own needs are fairly simple. You would find me in that kitchen creating healthy meals and then doing laps in that lovely pool….and reading the afternoons away.
The red white and blue is fun and oh so patriotic!

Hmmn, tough life but someone has to do it – would ditch the deck chairs in the dining room though – that’s out door furniture here in Australia!!

This is an absolutely beautiful chic Hampton home! The red, white, and blue American patriotic decor is subtle and elegant. Nicely done!

Don’t love the furnishingings but the home and the property are dreamy.

The house is Beautiful and would love to spend a week here but I would rather be on a tropical island with no internet (of course I would miss reading this blog) or TV and forced to relax…ahhhhh lovely!

The house is beautiful, a perfect getaway! I noticed the teal coloured chairs in the dinning room, are those made out of wood? and if so what kind???

I think that this backyard was made for summers, but I wouldn’t mind staying there year round. Liking the no fuss dining room also.

I hope the design was meant to be comical.

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
