Interior Inspiration

The Simpliest Way to Make Money as an Interior Designer

September 13, 2022
  • Share

Becoming an interior designer is about more than just decorating houses. It’s about bringing dreams to life. Interior designers have mastered the skill of taking inspiration and turning it into a reality. But working on new projects takes up a lot of time. It doesn’t matter if it’s only one room or an entire home renovation. Every little detail matters. And the job isn’t always as lucrative as people may think. It depends on the budget and type of project. So how can you make money as an interior designer?

Passive income has become one of the go-to strategies for interior designers to earn more money. Due to the digital age, social media has become an important platform for designers to showcase their projects and gain exposure. Designers have been using affiliate links to earn money when a follower clicks and shops the link. Affiliate links are custom and/or trackable links that allow the user to earn money and credit when they drive traffic to a product.

Shop the Shopping Board

Chirpyest is one of the top platforms that allows interior designers to monetize their projects. The platform offers high cash back percentages at home retailers like Pottery Barn, Jayson Home, Lulu & Georgia, Wayfair, and more. It allows members to earn higher commissions than competitors and makes it easy to create shareable links. Designers can earn money by adding Chirpyest links to their portfolios to encourage followers to shop their finds.

During consultations, designers can use the Chirpyest shopping board feature to curate items for the clients to shop. If a client shops a product on their board then the design can earn up to 30% cash back on the cart total.

The best part is even if you’re just a beginner or someone who loves interior design, you can become a member and share your recommendations with friends. Chirpyest is available to everyone who loves to share their finds. Sign up here. 🙂

The living room belongs to my friends Manon and John. It’s located at their Sag Harbor home in the Hamptons. They let me stay there for a few weeks over the summer. I took so many photos of their home. They added so many great finds and unique pieces. Stay tuned for more.

Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.

So today, I took my work somewhere else. ☕️💻
A little change of scenery, a different view, a few hours away from my usual desk and somehow the workday felt a little lighter.
I’ve found that working somewhere else can be a nice reset when I’m feeling stuck, uninspired, or just too used to the same routine. It’s not necessarily about being more productive; sometimes it’s just about making the day feel different.
A little workday change of scenery with me. 🤍
Would you take your work somewhere else for the day?

A great parquet floor doesn’t just ground a room. A great parquet floor doesn’t just ground a room. It tells you everything about the history of the space. The patina, the pattern, the way light moves across it. These are the rooms that prove good bones never go out of style.
What’s your favorite parquet pattern?

Designer Emma Donnersberg took her own Paris apartment in the 7th arrondissement and used it to rewrite the rules — classical bones, contemporary everything else. Her Wave Sofa and U&Me Table anchor the living room in organic curves. In the kitchen, a green ceramic-wrapped island does the heavy lifting for color against all that neutral stone. And the dining room? A Carrara travertine fireplace that turns stone into the whole point of the room.
Curved, curated, and completely hers. 🤍
