I hope I am not too abnormal but I’ve found a great unconventional online resource for design ideas…The Mulitiple Listing Service (The MLS) here in Southern California. In other words houses for sale in the Los Angeles Area…this is basically the real estate for sale classifieds.
I often go to The MLS click on “Guest”, then click on the red Los Angeles area map…and then I begin searching for high end homes ($1,500,000 – $3,500,000) for sale Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills East and West, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills PO, West Hollywood, Los Feliz and Hancock Park.
Usually the homes for sale in this higher end price range are decorated/designed really nicely or staged really well. Some of them look like they come right out of the pages of Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home, or Architectual Digest.
I’ve browsed through these pictures of high end homes for sale for design inspiration. …I have gotten great ideas from these upscale homes on paint color, door selection, kitchen design, bath remodelling, landscaping, furniture, color scheme ideas etc..
