WARM MODERN HOME DESIGN – WOLVERIDGE ARCHITECTS

May 22, 2014

This post is for TE.  My guy TE loves modern residential architecture and decor…but he likes modern with stylish accents and warm touches.  Mixing of textures in a modern home.  That’s at least what I think he likes. Was browsing through the site of Wolveridge Architects in Melbourne, Australia and thought TE would love their work.  So here is a look at just a few of their projects…loving their work and style!

modern bathroom sink mirrors

Loving all of the brick and wood and subway tiles added into the very clean line straight edge aesthetic.  Nice work.

Happy Thursday!

P.S.  TE’s brother and sister-in-law are in town.  We had a fun night out at a big Hollywood party with them and TE’s son.  Then we ended things off with a very late dinner at the Soho House.  Perfect evening.

P.P.S.  My dear mother is having her lower kitchen cabinets painted a rich cobalt blue.  She refuses to send me photos until it is done!

P.P.P.S.  Best of friend AM is in the Hamptons pulling together her new house for the long weekend.  She called me from there this morning.  She refuses to send me photos too until it is all done.  I just want to see what everyone in my life is doing with their remodel, decorating and renovation projects but I am clearly having a hard time getting any photos!

Lovely project. They just nailed it! It looks all so effortless… really amazing! I love the colors wood touch and also the basic look that gives that unique touch to the project. Thanks for sharing it! Visit my blog!

Hooray for Coco! She makes cutting-edge modern out to be
as warm and cozy as the best places built before we were born.

A blank wall isn’t neutral, it’s a missed opportunity. The right piece doesn’t just fill space, it gives a whole room a reason to exist.

The spaces that get it right pair it with warm oak, aged brass, and something worn-in: an antique dresser, a vintage runner, a hand-thrown vase.

Heidi Caillier Design took this historic San Francisco home and layered floral wallpaper, striped drapery, checked linens, and antique textiles room after room without a single one feeling overdone. Marble mantels, gilt mirrors, brass fixtures, and warm wood floors do the quiet work of holding it all together.
This is what happens when “more” is chosen on purpose.

A great bathroom isn’t just functional, it’s the one room in the house that’s entirely yours. The stone you choose, the way light hits the fixtures, the tub you actually want to sit in. These are the ones that get it exactly right.
Save this for your next bathroom renovation inspo and follow for more. 🖤
