Gorgeous green ficus surround a secret wood carved doorway that leads to a private garden at the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs.(above)

So last weekend although I didn’t go to Casa Kimball in the Dominican Republic in the end due to my week of “life happens”…I did end up in Palm Springs for a last minute spur of the moment mini one day vacation.

Before heading to the Indian Wells tennis tournament on Sunday, just happened upon this intriguing carved door and garden gate while roaming the grounds of the Parker Hotel.

Love the mystery of doors and love the way this one is surrounded with beautiful greenery…lush foliage in the middle of the desert I might add!

Hope you have a great weekend! I have a busy one ahead!! Very busy.

xoxo
Coco

Would there be any chance we could trade lives for a day? Pretty please? 🙂

I thought I recognized this gate! But I’ve never seen it from inside the courtyard. I’m glad you sneaked in to get the interior shot. Lovely!

    Lovely!
It’s the real thing, but it reminds me of a garden I once saw as part of a garden contest for which I was a judge (I don’t know what qualified me, a restaurant critic, to judge a garden contest).

The fellow had a small urban back yard, but had installed a door in the hedge with a pathway of round paving stones in grass leading up to it and, seemingly, beyond.

But instead of an entrance to a private garden, it was a mirror. It gave his garden a touch of magic with this beautiful fantasy garden just beyond the looking glass.

Is this pic taken from the inside or the outside. If from outside, i just wanted to have a look at the inside. It’s really awesome…

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
