West Coast Neutral House Tour

October 10, 2019
  • Share

Today is a stunning West Coast House Tour. There is nothing quite like a beachy neutral designed home. While I may never own one I could look at images of them all day. The owner of this breathtaking home is the owner of the natural skincare line Lesse. It’s very clear that the owners of this home embrace the neutral color palette in all aspects of life. Let’s check out this amazing home!

SUN DRIPPED NEUTRAL LIVING ROOM

share

This Venice home follows a somewhat strict color palette but does so beautifully. This living room just screams relaxing by the beach. I love the shape, color, and texture of these chairs. They are amazing! The addition of the white fur adds a nice brightness and texture.

The black and white fireplace looks sensational in this all-white room especially with that photograph framed on top. The minimalist approach to filling the shelves keeps this room feeling curated and not cluttered. The soft grey sofa and weathered wood table are a beautiful pair. The addition of some throw pillows really ties the sofa in with the rest of the room.

A BEACH ESCAPE DINING ROOM

share

This dining room also just screams beach retreat to me. The wood table, chairs, and light fixture are all spectacularly designed and blend together with ease. The white built-in shelving/storage provides a nice pop of white and the hint of the mirror in the middle reflects just enough light. I’m obsessed with the look and feel of the table and shelving together.

A BRIGHT WHITE – OPEN SHELF KITCHEN

share

The kitchen is just as airy and open as the rest of the west coast home. The stark white cabinets and subtle silver hardware shine with simplicity. The open wood shelves are gorgeous and display a handpicked variety of dishware. The stack of cutting boards adds a nice warmth on the counter.

A RELAXING BEDROOM WITH A POP OF CORAL

In this bedroom simplicity is key. The all-white walls and bedding radiate the light from the window around the room. The soft beige wood nightstands add the perfect touch of warmth and the lamps add a nice texture and pop of cream. The bedding is very simple. The orangey throw pillow takes the lead and shines in this room.

Such a dream closet! Simple, elegant, and highly organized. I’m in love with those little shelves that hold those shoes perfectly! Not to forget about the extra shoe storage on top – that is a great solution.

Some little details around the home – this in-wall shelf shows off the owners love of minimalism and highlighting favorite items. I really enjoy that it’s interesting to look at without being cluttered.

A little close up of a book stack. Expertly put together to create a full-color palette and has a focal point with the bright orange. You can tell a lot of thought went into this combination of items.

A MINIMALIST’S DREAM BATHROOM

share

This bathroom is incredible! I love the dark warm natural wall color highlighted by that light beige plant. The addition of the gold hardware on the light fixture adds a nice dash of shine. The all-white shower area looks amazing in contrast to the darker wall.

BACKYARD OR VACATION DESTINATION?

share

The perfect combination of outdoor seating for this Venice home. The creamy couch looks amazing in front of the grey marble wall. The circular table adds a nice shape to the center and the wire chairs add in a great feeling of texture. The addition of books, a lamp, and a potted plant make this space feel more like home. The rug really ties this space together.

Such an incredible pool as well as an amazing photo! That shadow really highlights the architecture of the space. The tall tiled wall adds emphasis and privacy. I love the choice of a super-light blue tile in contrast to a brighter blue in the water area. It also looks like there is a large mirror off on the right-hand side.

Talk about dream backyard! This space is breathtaking and looks like the perfect place to relax, unwind, and have fun. The white chair provides some picturesque seating while helping add a brightness to the color palette.

This outdoor space is a minimalist art lovers dream. The weathered wood table is very unique and blends with the surrounding colors beautifully. I love the addition of a few ceramic vases and the natural wood growing only adds to the beachy feeling.

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming
“Be patient with yourself it has been a funky fe “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky few months in the world.” My friend Manon texted this advice to me today. She is right. A little patience and a lot of kindness to yourself and to others during these unusual times will go a long way.

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
