Introducing Custom COCOCOZY Color Block Rugs

January 18, 2017
  • Share

I am so proud to present my latest rug collection.  This year I bring you COCOCOZY Color Block Rugs!  I was inspired last year when I did this post on color blocking in fashion and in the home.  Noticed the trend of using big solid blocks of color had been used on the runway or in paint colors or even drapes, but never in rugs…so I decided to change that with this amazing line of customizable rugs.  Custom wool rugs that can be delivered in as little as 45 days!

I like these rugs because I think they are simple an elegant.  They can blend in any room.  The look is preppy, modern, and classic.

These rugs were developed as part of my partnership with Capel Rugs.  I cam up with the design, they figured out how to get a custom rug to you in 30-45 days!!

Please feel free to head over to the COCOCOZY Shop to see some combinations I customized that you can easily buy.

My dog Mr. Boo on a COCOCOZY Color Block rug in Grey/Charcoal/Black in my bedroom…he matches!!

I was so happy to learn that my friend and DC area based designer Amy Oliver Beaupré just ordered one of these rugs for a client’s entryway!  I cannot wait to see how it looks.

What do you think of my new color block rug collection?  Like or love.

The rug collection is really beautiful! I’m in love.

Mr. Boo is beautiful, too. What kind is he? Looks a lot like my mini Aussie-doodle, who is the best dog I have ever known.

Hi Arlene! Thank you re: rug and Mr. Boo. Mr. Boo is a Japanese Chin – Poodle mix. He is a 16lb busy body! What is your Aussie-doodle’s name…attach a picture if you can…I have never seen one!

Louise was supposed to be 20lbs like her poodle and Australian shepherd parents. She is 28lbs. I have to chop her hair often due to 3′ of snow and her fur (or is it hair when they don’t shed?) ends up full of snowballs. I can’t seem to attach or paste pic.
I’ve never heard of a Japanese Chin. Boo is gorgeous!

The right chandelier doesn’t just light a room, it becomes the room. Scale, material, placement. When it’s done right, everything else arranges itself around it.
Save this for your next lighting inspo and follow for more. 🖤

Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive.Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive. 🌸
One thing I’ve learned is that every outdoor space needs a focal point. It gives your eye a place to land and makes the whole space feel more intentional.
In this courtyard, the bougainvillea naturally becomes that focal point, adding color, height, and movement without overwhelming the space.
If you’re designing your own patio or garden, start with one standout feature, then let everything else support it.
Save this tip for your next outdoor project. ✨

Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surr Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surrey, restored back to its former grandeur.
Grade II listed and stripped of most of its original character by previous owners, this 9,000 sqft home with seven bedrooms, and five bathrooms was brought back to life for a French-Swedish couple raising two young kids here. The brief: Parisian luxe with a Scandinavian twist, and a design calm enough to keep the grand proportions feeling intimate.
Covet Noir rebuilt what had been lost: full plasterwork, raised & fielded panels, a bespoke decorative ceiling, and added a cantilevered limestone staircase with Nero Marquina cabochon inlay in the entrance hall. The material palette leans into marble and alabaster, softened with boucle and brushed cottons, chosen to hold up to two kids and two dogs without losing the elegance. Antique furniture and architectural fittings were sourced throughout to keep the project sustainable, alongside ground source heating.
Grand bones, calm hand. This is the kind of restoration we could look at all day. 🤍

Before you start moving furniture, ask yourself thBefore you start moving furniture, ask yourself these three questions:
Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅
Save this for the next time you’re tempted to move every piece of furniture in your house.
